    Factory second = used?

    • OP will tell u "never leave the factory" and lots of accounts will neg u if u have any doubt.
but ya, THIS factory second = used.

      • +2

It better not mean that haha. Pretty gross otherwise!

        • hehe, sorry to bring this up but when u buy a "Factory second", or make any purchase from a shop that allowed "change of mind return",
u should mentally prepared for a used item.

      • THIS factory second = used.

Why are you stating this as fact?

        • Somethings not quite right about him. I’ve had a debate with him already about these being brand new. He’s commented on all threads by OP. I think he could be a competitor of OP. Someone even confirmed that OP sells them brand new but he’s still saying they’re used (see link). Just ignore him.

lol this "Associated" show up again, when i clearly pointed out there is a complant of this seller selling something with
            no Tontine label
            no wool label
            not Australia standard size

and he still trolling me with the definition of "factory second".

BTW no one EVERY "confirmed" OP sells them brand new !!!
            this "Associated" LIE again !

            • @samelight: Not associated. Just don’t like your lies.
              From a buyer:

Got one of these last time they were offered, it's really good and wasn't a customer return
              https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/523114#comment-8422274

              From another buyer (below):

Mine was definitely wool and had the Tontine label.

So are you done or you gunna keep embarrassing yourself?

              • @Phil22: are u done with the trolling ? where is the

confirmed that OP sells them brand new

                ???

where is the word brand new????

                wasn't a customer return = brand new

dude ar u kidding me right ??
                not original packaging! brand new??

are u done with the trolling ?

    Hey OP
Whats the difference between these and the Tontine FACTORY SECOND Australian Wool All Season Doona| Duvet| Quilts other than price ?
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tontine-FACTORY-SECOND-Australia…

    • Hi,
      Those are 300GSM.
      Thank you

      • OK Thanks

  • Meaning of factory seconds- used or poor quality

    • +1

Factory seconds usually means there was some mistake in the manufacturing process. What however could go wrong making a doona, i don't know!

      • -2

if those mistakes ar not repairable (eg, dent on the freezer), then it will be sale as factory seconds.
but cloth or quilts ar repairable, the only reason why listed as "factory second" is becoz its a returned product.

        • that's what I thought, what if they had coitus and returned

      • +2

For the tontine ones above - I bought one, you can see where they over stitched one section or where the stitching wasn't perfectly square. That stuff wouldn't pass QA because it obviously looks out of whack, however it doesn't affect the performance of the quilt/doona itself, and when you put a cover on it you don't notice the imperfections.

No idea if this deal's idea of "factory second" is the same as that of the Tontine deal, however.

        • don't mind a few overstitching if that is only what is wrong with them

        • -1

as i said above, if it couldn't pass the QA, it will be sent back to the product line for a rework, won't end up in the "factory second" bin.

could u take a photo of the label and post here plz,
coz some said its not original and not evern sure is wool.

          • @samelight: I see, looks like the wording is very important

            • -1

@[Deactivated]: also the way this seller neg ppl make him look very guilty.
he used to up vote all positive comments and neg all the bad comments with his "friends",
but after i pointed out we could c who and when up voted hes making it too obvious,
              now he only neg…

              • @samelight: If you don't like the deal, don't buy it. No-one's forcing you to!

                • +1

@bdl: I think he’s a competitor. No interest in buying, just trying to throw shit on this seller.

                  • @Phil22: Or perhaps a Doona Connoisseur - a Doonaisseur

                    • @bdl:

where is the word brand new????
                      wasn't a customer return = brand new
dude ar u kidding me right ??
                      not original packaging! brand new??
are u done with the trolling ?

Hi @bdl can you confirm that they are brand new and unused so @samelight can get off my ass. Thanks in advance!

                      • +1

@Phil22: @Phill22: Mine was brand new, unused, and had dodgy stitching on the outside. Looked like whoever or whatever machine was sewing it got out of alignment and the "square" pockets which they put the fill in wasn't quite square. Again, I reiterate that I bought from the previous Tontine deal and not this one which has a generic pic on the eBay listing. You're welcome :)

                        • @bdl: Thanks you. But I have a feeling that dudes not gunna stop. I wonder why? Your guess is as good as mine!

no need to OP already confirmed they ar not brand new by telling u they ar "FACTORY SECOND" and no original packaging !!

                        ar u done trolling??

                  • -1

@Phil22: just stfu, after someone complaint about the "no label",
this time OP don't even dare to sell them as "Tontine" branded.

                • @bdl:

If you don't like the deal, don't buy it. No-one's forcing you to!

im not saying anything forcing me to, where u came up with this idea?

                  • @samelight: Your QuiltAnon (QAnon) posts about the ethical sourcing of factory second doonas

                    • @bdl: that meaning someone forcing me to buy it ??
                      i don't get ur logic .

                      • @samelight: You may just be tired. No point getting caught up in the sheets. I think you should sleep on it.

Perhaps with a new (factory second) doona. :)

                        • @bdl:

                          same to u :)

          • @samelight: I'm not at home so can't, the one I did buy wasn't the link on this post, though. It was from the previous deal.

Mine was definitely wool and had the Tontine label.

This deal looks different because the seller is using a generic picture (instead of the tontine pictures like s/he's used for previous deals).
edit - this listing looks like the one I bought previously https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tontine-FACTORY-SECOND-Australia…

You can believe me or you can choose not to, I'm just giving feedback from me.

  • +1

ANY company that has a " factory 2nd's " does NOT make me feel positive of its products

Ever heard of a factory-2nd. Lexus?

    • +1

At the very least it means that have some sort of QC - you'd rather they didn't or do you just take issue in the rejects being sold more cheaply?

      • It's marketing, a lot of importers "damage" boxes and call it a 2nd.so they can slash the price and stocking dealers dont get the shits

    • haha Lexus never make factory seconds :) US car makers, on the other hand.. :)

  • -1

wow !! lol whats wrong with those 2 "Associated" !!!

OP clearly stated that its "Factory Second" !
OP clearly stated no original packaging in other post!!

and those 2 ppl still claimed its "brand new" !!
they don't know the meaning of "brand new" or they just shameless?

    • You're funny :)

      • -1

u guys really think ppl ar so stupid that they will belive whatever BS u told !
        ya, brand new my ass.

seriously do u know the meaning of "brand new"?
        or just for modifier purpose?

        • lol

          • +1

@bdl: I don’t know about you, but this guys actually getting on my nerves. What do you reckon? Not quite right or a competitor? I’m thinking the former.

            • @Phil22: The jury's out - perhaps a previous customer that wasn't happy with end product?

              • +1

@bdl: When I said not quite right, I wasn’t talking about the product. But I think I know the answer anyway.

        • These Australian made wool quilts are brand new and got slight imperfections such as missed stitch, twisted binding, however these minor faults don't affect the functionality of the quilt, you won't know the difference once quilt is inside the quilt cover. RRP for these quilts between $169.95 to $219.95. Quilts don't come in retail packaging and packed in clear plastic bags. We have priced them to clear.

    Hi,
We guarantee all quilts are brand new, never used, no customer returns, have care labels, stating size & Filling Wool, Made by Tontine Australia.
    Thank You

These quilts are factory seconds as they got slight imperfections during the manufacturing process such as missed stitch, twisted binding.
