eBay Item Not Quite as Described, What Should I Do?

Hi everyone,

I've recently bought a set of generic accessories for my Deebot Ozmo 610 robot vacuum from eBay, which includes 2x mop cloths and 2x filters. However, I realised that the 2x filters does not fit my vacuum, but the mop cloths seems to be fine.

I've contacted the seller asking for either a replacement of the filters or a full refund. The seller responded saying that they can offer me a 30% refund on my $17.97 purhcase and I will keep my current set of items but they won't be sending any replacement items.

Help me out guys, should I accept this offer or should I ask for a full refund and ship back the items. This is the cheapest seller I've found which is actually Australian stocked, but the 30% refund ($5.3) won't allow me to find any alternative filters on eBay.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

If you open a SNAD case with eBay not only will you get your money back but in the majority of cases the buyer gets to keep the purchase.

You are not obliged to accept the seller's offer at this stage unless told to by eBay.

If the seller wants the purchase returned they will have to pay the return postage.

eBay doesn't allow you keep the item by any policy. This happens because the seller decides to cut their losses and don't bother with having the items returned.
As for the OP, if you aren't happy with 30% partial refund then negotiate a higher amount or push for a full refund. Seller is responsible for return postage cost if item is not as described.

  • Seller has an appalling feedback rating on eBay and that should have been a warning signal to look elsewhere

  • Refund, if the item is not as described.

  • Return, refund, clean slate.

Uhh OP, sorry to burst your bubble, but:

Looks like one of those cases where they either dropship and lie about their actual dispatch/item location. Read more here

Exactly. Send back ( everything ), seller pays return, and good luck to find just the filters for less than what you paid for all parts.

    It's cheap for a reason.
