  • Mega cheap for glass bottles too

      Not really…

They are often $4.50 for 4 at the supermarkets which is a pretty similar unit price to this…

The Sarsaparilla is slighlty cheaper and only need to commit to a 12 pack.

    • Same price per bottle if buying from Woolworths, as jv points out it's on special.

      • I guess the upside is its a little more convenient if ordering bulk.

$10 for 10 is the usual sale??

This is more expensive. I think Amazon is setting a 10%ish higher price to catch out indiscriminate subscribe and save cancellers who don't think before they buy…

There is no conspiracy, and Amazon isn't screwing with you. They are just price matching Woolies, and 10% on top of that. Amazon rarely have actual sales, they just matches.

It was a bit tongue in cheek, but usually woolies is 10 for $10 isn't it?

      • +3

Yes, I noticed that it seems that Amazon isn't really aiming to be cheap they just price match other retailers specials. Still a good deal if you have Amazon Prime for free shipping but goes against the grain of supporting the business that had the good promotion to start with.

        • but goes against the grain of supporting the business that had the good promotion to start with.

If Woolworth had free express shipping with no minimum spend for a low fixed price per year, I'd give them my money. Until then, Amazon wins.

I hope Amazon gets more into groceries and I can use them exclusively.

@PainToad: Yes, the free shipping deal with no minimum spent is the main way that Amazon are wining business I think. I suspect they are losing money on these sorts of deals in an attempt to capture market share.

          • @PainToad: But if more people use Amazon exclusively, there might not be anyone to price match against. You'd therefore potentially pay more in the long run.

            • @arcticmonkey: Or Woolworth and Coles might drag their asses into the present. The very least get rid of their ridiculous minimum for click and collect.

    • Been looking for months and never seen them that low. I'm sure it happens but not frequently. Still is still a good deal.

      • Fair enough ill trust you and remove my neg

  • Also goes brilliantly with bourbon.

But cheaper when on sale in supermarkets

  • With a subscription its basically $1 per bottle, so same as woolworths and someone else has to lug it all the way to your front door.

    • +2

I ordered the diet sarsaparilla only because the local Woolies doesn't stock it, and don't feel like going to the other tomorrow. (Already used up the daily shop for the day, Melbourne yeah!)
