Decent workhorse PC, 15% off the dell retail site, Cheapest available for a solid work PC
Similar to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/554662 but different range XPS
I don't think any of the extra ebay codes work on this deal.

As always, thanks for your insightful opinion.
No problem.
Thank you for thanking me on my insightful opinion.
you got a Cheaper deal ? Please post link
No, in-fact the last deal jv contributed to the site was back in 2018.
Normally Laptops are much more expensive than desktops - the recent Dell G7 deal kills this considering you are getting (albeit mobile versions) of i7-10750, RTX 2070 and obviously a smaller form factor and 17" 144hz screen - for $200 less.
I get it - not everyone "wants" a laptop.. but if I want a better spec desktop, then any MSY can build something much better value than this (or even any of Techfast's Premium deals with the higher grade hardware).
Cheap and expensive are relative terms
They are.
I can only speak for myself though, not for everyone.
If you break it down as Bill of Material of computer parts and compared with other places, then it no longer is "relative" or "subjective". The only thing that is subjective is basically branding and maybe the after support.
Consider comparing the spec with Techfast i7 deal:
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/554896
the 2070 Super at $1599 is $600 cheaper.. with a GPU that is two grades above the Dell and twice as expensive as the 1660Ti. Is the Dell badge worth $800+? Some people might "feel" that an Apple badge is worth $800 difference or even Dell's sister brand Alienware.. but a Dell badge? hmmm..
Cheaper than mine
Not everyone shops at Harvey Norman…
Oooh snap!
Agree. My laptop has better specs, and I paid less than this.
I'd be looking at 5700 XTs (or 2070 Supers) for this price.
Dell is typically poor value. Recommend custom building yourself
@miracle
Thanks mate, Not very IT Savvy here, so need something that just works Out of the box, Don't want to build a PC.
Would you care to provide a link for a better system or your laptop ? This is just the best I could find, Plus adding gift cards it seems to be a reasonable deal right now. Not sure when we'll have a 20% off from ebay again.
For this price I would expect at least an rtx 2060.
If you can wait for the regular 20% off Dell ebay sales, this would get discounted on top of the 15% showing now
eg. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-XPS-8940-Tower-Desktop-10th…
this is the desktop you linked to, which got that further discount
This.
why would anyone buy this for almost double the price of similar techfast deals?
'branding'
I thought Dell woudl be better for warranty, not for double, but what's the closest techfast PC to this price
https://techfast.com.au/collections/intel-systems/products/c…
Is this better ? both look the same I7
Long PC warranties are generally over rated. If quality components are used (especially the PSU/ram) and they don't die within the first few days then it's highly likely they'll chug along just fine for years. More important is having a decent backup regime in case ***t happens and you lose all your data.
Such high price and not even a 2060?!!…More a rip off to be honest (IMO)
I would feel sad paying $2200 and getting a 1660ti
I would feel like an idiot.
reads title three times over

..
BWWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! XD
This i7 chip can be had for~$500
1660ti also ~$500
16GB ram ~$150
512GB SSD ~$150 for nvme
Mobo ~$200
PSU ~$150
Case ~$100
So if you build it yourself it'll be roughly $1750, unless you really need dell for some reason… Probably not so much a good buy.
Don't forget a DVD drive for $20 ;)
$489 | i7-10700F |
$469 | GTX 1660 Ti |
$159 | B460M Motherboard |
$100 | 16GB 3200MHz RAM |
$84 | 512GB M.2 SSD |
$49 | 1TB HDD |
$24 | DVD Burner |
$69 | 450W 80+ Bronze PSU |
$69 | Case |
$18 | 4x Case Fans |
$1530 |
Nice, I'd choose a pcie SSD instead of a sata though.
You're right. This would be better for just a few dollars more.
That's expensive for a desktop.
