Online movie rental streaming

Quickflix is launching unlimited rental streaming for $15/month - http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/technology/technology-news/q…

It looks like the content will be pretty lack lustre but they have a free trial from Nov 10 until the end of 2011.

We gave Netflix streaming a go for while but the content was really poor in terms of new releases. We've resorted back to iTunes movie rentals.

Does anyone use any other streaming movie service? We're looking for mostly new releases.

What's the bandwidth requirement for this? I have a dodgy line that drops to 3Mbps whenever it rains…

For Netflix, at least 1.5Mbps, 3Mbps for DVD, 5Mbps for HD, 8Mbps for 1080p on PS3.

iTunes is a little different - it just starts downloading and you can make sure you have enough downloaded before starting to watch it. We get 13Mbps so we just start watching it straight away with no issues.

I'm assuming Quickflix streaming might be the same as Netflix.
