  • Bought the homebrand "Strike" wipes for $3.50. are these better?

    • Strike has 46% Benzalkonium Chloride. Dettol wipes used to be 46% but have lowered to 36% since during covid. I have an old pack and a new pack. These wipes are 36% didecyldmethylammonium chloride. Guessing it's an equivalent. But at the moment strike seems to be strongest.

      • Cool

So strike > Coles > Dettol

        • +2

Yes ironically the home brands seem to be the strongest for the wipes, and the branded products all seem to be skimping out now…as they are probably selling more than ever and trying to keep up with production demands (with a limited supply of active ingredient. So they dilute the strength). Strike is also Australian owned/made. So its a win win!

          • @Sammyboy: Funny. In that case how's the woolworths or homebrand ones

            • @neonlight: Strike is the "home brand" sold in Woolworths. Actually its 47% not 46%. So its 11% stronger than Detol and Ajax. I don't have a Coles one here to check at the moment and the website doesn't magnify the pic to check. Can anyone confirm the strength of the Coles wipes? Interestingly Coles don't sell Strike, so it could be repackaged for Coles. Just go the highest strength for the lowest price! :)

              • @Sammyboy: I assume strike is not on sale atm. But does this mean the Ajax and Detol cannot kill coronavirus with not enough %

                • @neonlight: Strike is always the low price of $3.50 for 100 wipes. Coles brand is the same price too!

I didn't like Strike when I got them. Coles home brand ones have always been the best for me. Much cheaper than these as well.

      • Is the smell of the Coles less strong than Strike?

      • What's wrong with strike?

        • They were a bit dry. I guess It’s personal preference but I like my wipes strong and wet!

  • Thanks OP, bought 5 which is the Max. I would buy Strike from Aldi but just always out of stock at my local stores.

  • Thanks OP.

Coles brand is also very good but always out of stocks

  • any good?
I used to use the other brand. Cannot remember, I think Dettol.Currently woolies selling for $5.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP!

    does this kill corona virus?

  • What do u use these for

    • -1

      Wiping your bum

    • Ajax Multipurpose Wipes are suitable for cleaning: The Kitchen (benchtops, stovetops, sinks, rubbish bins). The Bathroom (toilets, toilet seats, floor, baths, taps, basins). Other surfaces (tables, desks, phones, door handles, high chairs)

  • Wipes with Benzalkonium Chloride would be effective against covid according to tga.

  • sold out i think?

Also available for the same price at Woolworths at the moment.
