Tapioca Pearls for Bubble Tea - Where to Buy?

I want to get some tapioca pearls for bubble tea.
They seem expensive online…and i dont know if they will be any good.
Can anyone recommend where to get them from at a good quality / price?

  • Chinese supermarket

    • Thanks. avoiding going into supermarkets / stores to look for things at the moment.

  • Asian shops or make your own. Tapioca flour is cheap

Former boba store worker here. Most boba stores use 3kg bulk bags which you can buy for about $20. If you keep the bag sealed and dry, cooking only what you need you can probs keep it for a while.

Otherwise you can get smaller sizes at asian supermarkets but they're a lot more expensive. I've seen 500g bags go for ~$8.

+1 for Sunwide as they're high quality and sell direct. It seems most stores are using them.

    • Thanks.
Wasn't expecting to buy 3kg but I'll give it a shot.
Looks like i will be having more bubble tea at home.

  • Asian store. Plenty out there. Even my small one has them. Tapioca pearls

3kg bags for 13 (results in 2.3kg after cooking), knoxfield in south east melbourne.

but these are the "you need to boil for 20 minutes and let it sit in pot for 20 minutes" type pearls
