They're OK but it's been more that Ampang has been declining in value since the reno.
I can recommend the food here, really good, and the specials are great value. Now off-limits because it's more than 5km from my modest abode.
Doncaster and Donny East have become a hotbed for excellent Malaysian food, with Malaysia Inn, Jonker Street and Penang Village all offering delicious food.
Dont forget penang flavours which is now closed :(

They also have fresh pineapple tarts. These are never 'cheap' or necessarily a bargain, but I don't regret buying them. They are a nice treat and is recommend getting them. $8/box
