I need help choosing a laptop for around 2500 I can go slightly go over but under would be better.
Will be mostly used for 4K video editing and uni work.
And also what are your best tips for getting the best price eg buy discounted gift cards, leave in cart without buying? They would be helpful
For $2500 you might not get a smooth 4K editing experience but I would recommend either the Dell XPS 15 or Dell G series. The G series are actually quite affordable and they are priced at well under $2500. In fact, there was a deal posted here for a 17" G series with RTX 2070 GPU and 97whr battery for around $2000, which was a steal (although for uni, 17" might be quite cumbersome). Plus you can upgrade the RAM and storage on most G series laptops. Dell XPS 15 would be really ideal for uni life as it's reasonably light, thin and easy to carry around. The GPU is not that powerful though (1660) and it's quite expensive at ~$2380 for the entry level 2019 model (which have bigger bezels than 2020 models). However, Dell deals come up really frequently on Ozbargain so you're likely going to find a nice deal if you wait a little longer. For extra savings, I recommend using cash back and education discounts.
