Amazon return process

Hello all,
Just wondering about the experience with Amazon return process from someone who had done it before. How soon do you see an update on the return process after you drop off at parcel point drop off?

Context:
Returned a product shipped from amazon us (seller) through amazon au following the instructions provided. It’s been about 10 days since I dropped it off at parcel point location and there has been no update on the item (it still is at initial stage and no confirmation on picked up from parcel point or arrived at their collection centre in nsw. Support says wait for 14 days and talk to them again.
The post is to get an understanding if thats how it normally works? (i.e. no update from drop off to seller receiving it etc…)

    i actually didnt get an email from dropping off from the return parcel drop off
    it was weird
    did get the email once amazon got it

      Same, I was expecting an email or receipt or something acknowledging that I'd dropped it off but nothing.Received the refund about 2 weeks later.

    I've dropped stuff off and had to wait ages. Pretty annoying that there's no notification.You just have to wait.

        Might help, I just complete a return with the drip off option. It took about 3 weeks for them to verify.

    From my experience, returning to drop off doesn't have follow up scan on receive item, however if you contact Amazon via chat confirming that you have drop it off and they check it ok, they will issue the refund straight away after checking. Amazon US confirms weeks after with reversed tax invoice.

    I just did this. The return label has a tracking number on it that you can look up on the Aussie Post tracking website, so you can see when they've received it, at least.

    You can see the number on the return label that is generated against that order.

      Thanks I’ve tried this but auspost says it’s not picked up yet
