Is $35664 a Good Price for Navara Dual Cab ST Automatic ?

Hi All,

Considering the following Car Lease from Maxxia, is their “discount” price actually a good deal ?

https://www.maxxia.com.au/car-offers/nissan-navara-dual-cap-…

They are saying it’s $35664 down from $48791

Wondering if it’s actually a good deal ? Putting the novated lease questions / opinions aside please.

Do you want a Navara? Do you want a base model (pretty much) Navara?

    • Not sure what I want really, still rocking my diesel i30 with about 270,000 on the clock and exploring options at the moment.

I'd get an X class over the Navara purely because they look better, should be able to get one cheap as well due to the discontinuation.

Also as spackbace mentions, don't get a 2x4, even just for resale value.

        • I suppose in street config but off-road, the X class has the worst range of mods and nothing looks good on it.

          • @[Deactivated]: Off road stuff should be the same as a Navara I'd imagine. Doesn't seem like op would be too worried anyway.

        • Hmm will have a look at them, thanks

Do you have any other suggestions ? Doesn’t have to be a Ute, just want something decent on fuel and not too expensive to maintain, was even considering a cerato a couple of years old.

          • @The mikky: I'm sure there is a Holden dealer somewhere still trying to get rid of a Colorado.

Would help if you are in Vic. It's just the perfect storm for a good deal.

          • @The mikky: What sort of vehicle do you want? If you only care about fuel economy and coat of maintenance then a corolla hybrid would be good.

You need to give more details, do you often take lots of people? Lots of stuff? Need a 4wd? Diesel, petrol? Hatch, wagon, ute?

@brendanm: Hmm I have thought of the caorolla hyrbrid, well that’s it, mostly
Just want something with driver legroom as I am 190cm, with long legs, and don’t really want to spend too much on it.

Have one child so need space for them in the back. And well driving is weird now used to have to do 110km a day but not doing that anymore thanks to COVID.

So yeah just after probably the best value for money car really with some legroom for driver, I do like a wagon to have some space to move larger things if I need.

              • @The mikky:

I'm about that height… buy a Camry hybrid

                • @spackbace: Hm will definitely give them a look as well, I guess I should have just gone with the Ozbargain default options. Lol

      • An i30 works for you now?

Do you need a ute? Don't get one if you don't have a use case for it, they're worse to drive than cars, more expensive, and worse on fuel. Those are only things that you are willing to sacrifice if you need the things a ute can do that a car can't.

        • Hmm well the driver leg room is a little short, I manage but would prefer some more legroom

Only thought of it’s to be able to throw mountain bike in back would be nice, not necessary.

my i30 is actually the i30cw wagon version which is nice for taking some bulkier items sometimes.

I like wagons but not that many ones being made these days,

          • @The mikky: Subaru Outback?

            Skoda make a few wagons?

            Golf / Passat wagon?

They can all easily fit a mountain bike in the back, and any car can fit a mountain bike on a towbar rack.

You're giving up a LOT for the privilege of some legroom and stuff in the back.

Utes aren't very comfortable on road or driving position wise anyways (have driven a few for work) compared to sedans/hatches/wagons.

They are saying it’s $35664 down from $48791

1 of those prices ex GST, the other inc GST…

    Lol it's also a 4x2, not 4x4

    https://www.nissan.com.au/vehicles/browse-range/navara/specs…

    Driveaway from
    $42,290

Trust me, don't believe anything from Maxxia…

    • Yes I knew their numbers are usually BS but was still wondering if this was still a good price.

      Cheers

  • No price is a good price for a navara

    • Why? What's wrong with the Navara?

      • +1

Nothing. They’re very good off-road. Not as powerful as they Model they replaced, but very good value for money.

      • Built in Spain with a Renault engine. I rest my case.

        • What's wrong with built in Spain and/or a Renault engine?

  • That is a good price for a 4x4 auto. But bad price for the spec you are mentioning.
