They're not all made the same so make sure to get the correct ones.
Thank you so much for this, I didn't realise thermal shock could actually shatter some of these containers. I thought that was a thing of the past.
Thanks again, I would have made a bad choice.
Thanks. I will check my Pyrex but I don’t tend to go from freezer to oven.
Well the idea is to have my meals all prepped and ready to go into the oven.
I no longer want to use a microwave to reheat all my food.
The alternative is multiple smaller containers. Would let you cook things for different amounts of time and be a little more flexible.
That is a pretty valid point about the cooking times. I hadn't really thought about that.
I think I like the idea of having less variation in the containers that need to be stored. Makes for simpler fridge Tetris.
I think I'm happy to just have longer/shorter cook times. And very small things can go on the stove I guess.
Brands we've had positive experience with Old Pyrex (don't have new Pyrex) and Glasslock.
Glasslock and Lock&Lock borosilicate glass containers are great.
I have a slightly different version of the Decor thermoglass containers, got them from the local supermarket on sale.
I haven't personally done freezer to oven, but often do freezer to microwave with no problem.
I have a bunch of these. $11 each from Woolies if full price. No complaints
Seems like you're paying a lot for having compartments. Pyrex have a great range which you can pick up for a lot less if you don't want the compartments.
