I'm a slightly out of shape, free Domino and Pizza Hut eating, eneloop collecting Ozbargainer so I know nothing about gym equipment - but assuming the adjustable bench could become flat - why would I need a single flat bench + an adjustabe bench that could be made to become flat?
I thought about this too, and then I can also see the benefits of this, such as being able to have the luxury of not having to change from flat to incline, training with another person or most-likely, using the second bench so you can do dips between benches etc.
However, it's a shame there isn't any dimensions other specs so we could compare to the cheaper options.
Matrix is also a premium brand, and you would be shocked to see Technogym incline benches starting at $1800…
As I didn't want to go that far with the current Technogyms I found a Impulse bench which was supportive, comfortable though pretty heavy, but regular pricing was $499 before covid… https://www.littleblokefitness.com.au/products/impulse-comme…
if you put them next to each other, you can do below vertical push ups on them. Cant do that with just one bench, hey.
(flat benches are a tad more comfortable than adjustable, but not so much that you need a flat bench as well as an adjustable bench)
To be fair to OP, the adjustable bench usually is about $800-$900, as its a commercial grade product, so you are getting a good deal. Split it with a friend and get a bench each for $400
nice price gouging
Terrible pricing
Wasn't this posted at $999 the other day? $799 is still too much
Hilarious

And not to take anything away from the deal, it might be worth it if you need both, however from the Matrix website it seems that Matrix and Johnsonfit are the same company. Both have the same address and contact details

Isnt that like saying 'its a troll post if you post a bargain on Sony headphones, because look, here is a $20 pair at Big W'
If this adjustable bench is so good (more than twice as expensive as similar items everywhere else) then why do you need a flat bench?
Terrible value, not a bargain.
