Looking for suggestions to buy Windows laptop for under $2000. I am not a gamer but need laptop which has 4k touch screen, 512 gb or 1 tb, and good performance. Long-term Macbook user here. Thanks.

When using my device as a laptop and not docked, I use the touchscreen more than anything else. Wouldn't consider a laptop without it, drives me nuts using the work one which isn't a touch screen.
I have a Lenovo Yoga which I got for under $2k haven't looked at current pricing/models/spec comparison. I have found Lenovo to be better quality than other brands of laptop I have owned. Why do you need 4K? I opted to go 1080p rather than the 4K variant. I really didn't see the need on a 13.3" screen for the extra resolution and it added cost and reduced battery life.
Edit: Just had a quick look and there are definitely models starting at just under $2k, just having the site open for a few minutes and it popped up this code for 10% off: YOGA-10 might come in useful.
I missed out on a deal for hp-envy 15" touch screen 4k, i5 processor, 16 gb ram , 512 ssd, which was around $1200 with student discount. So i am looking for similar or better specs laptop.

As a Mac user myself, I never saw an advantage in a touch screen, but having seen them in action in an educational environment, sometimes it makes sense.
I look forward in a few years when Apple "invents" touch screen laptops.
