Recommended Streaming Stick/Box - Fire TV Vs Mi Box s Vs Sabrina

Hello All!

I am currently looking to finish off my projector set-up in my room and want a streaming box or stick so that I can play media content off of Kodi.

I was initially waiting for Chromecast Sabrina to come out, but it's been a month and still no word so I'm thinking I might have to settle for something else. The reason I was waiting out is because I already have a Google based smart set-up in the room, so it made sense to go with that.

I saw a deal on the Xiaomi Mi Box s today for $79 which seems pretty decent and the Fire TV 4K Stick for $75 ish. Both prices actually seem quite good and although my projector is only 1080p, I wouldn't mind the extra performance.

I like the idea of the Mi Box s having built in Chromecast as opposed to the workaround with Fire TV.

What are your thoughts? Should I wait for Sabrina?

I picked up an echo dot 3rd gen for 70cents in the recent prime deal so I could turn the Google based setup into an Alexa one?

      +1 to this, cheap, well supported, good UI and having live TV via the box increases the use cases for it.
      Built in Chromecast too I believe, but haven't explored that.

      Didn't consider this option! Are there many Vodafone advertisements and stuff plastered around the UI?

        Just a Vodafone logo on the Main Menu, nothing else.

    Consider the 4K apple tv. It'll playback 4k hdr blu ray remuxes that you rip to a .mkv file from your own collection. None of those other boxes you mentioned can do that, there's not enough processing power in them.

    There's a chance Sabrina will be officially announced this week. New Pixel 4a is due to be announced August 3rd.
