    • Damn that's expensive you must have got the three course package.

This is the lower grade one mentioned in OPs post. So I guess expect better than that (it looks so good IMO)

      • +1

That is fantastic and looks legit. I see so many dodgy butchers claiming high marbling scores these days which are clearly lies. Those are definitely accurate scores. Yum. I find that amount of marbling just right personally. Higher than that, although still amazing is just too rich for me and my poor gallbladder which is no longer with me, R.I.P.

      • They look like they've been cared for. Free range

      • -2

Nope, not one of those pictures is Wagyu.

      • Thanks, Karen. Nobody cares.

    • Hey tom riddle
      Sorry can't help u.

  • I don't see the discount at the level mentioned. As stated, I add two of these at $570 retail for a total of $1140, but the discount applied after using the coupon is only $346.98. Am I missing something?

    • Did you add the spice rub?

      • Same discount with and without spice rub.

    • I worked for me with 1 lot of beef, maybe try to put through 2 separate orders?

    • Not 2 packs of meat. Add 2 spice rubs.

    • Thats a good problem to have!
      2 beefs

    • did you try turning your computer off and on again?

    • logged in?

  • I found that I only needed to add one lot of steak but had to add the spices after the steak for the $235 to work.

    • Thanks! This worked for me:
      1 x 3kg Wagyu
      2 x spices

Entered code once logged in and total delivered is $235

  • Ty OP bought !

  • Trustworthy online butcher.

  • anyone make biltongs here?

    • +1

Yep, but not with $78/kg Wagu!
Latest batch was from $10/kg porterhouse, mmmm mmmm.

    • +1

Yeah this overkill for jerky and a waste really. These bad boys are made for reverse sear or sous vide to get the best out of them.

  • does freezing this ruin the meat?
A lot of meat to eat in one go

    • +1

Those from last deal were vacuum sealed. I can't taste any difference after frozen.

    • Nope. If they’re properly sealed they’ll be fine.

      • rub the spice on before sealing

    • Always vacuum seal and defrost in the fridge over 2-3 days and there is basically no difference.

  • we don't go to Westholme

  • +3
  • Is it just me, but I think waygu scotch just has too much fat. I love fat, and love waygu rump and especially sirloin, but scotch is just taking it too far. Thats some expensive fat.

    • +3

Smoke it low and slow (reverse sear) and a lot of that fat should melt away… Put a tray full of beans underneath to catch the drippings and you'll also have the tastiest pit beans ever!

    • +3

All that intra-muscular fat will melt out when you cook it, leaving the tender meat. It has a very low melting temp, to the point it will melt in your fingers if at room temp.

It’s what makes Wagyu so good.

      • +2

I'd rather just pay for tender meat. Why pay extra for stuff thats just going to melt away? I'd rather buy good eye fillet and add fat/butter myself. Good eye fillet has crevices to get it deep into the meat.

        • +1

I cooked it slowly in the sous vide then seared it. The fat stayed on the meat in the sous vide, became this almost jelly like consistency, then when I seared it it got the most incredible crust. It's super rich, you definitely don't need a whole steak per person, but it's absolutely delicious. Still got some in the freezer from last time.

          • +1

@whapkaplit: Yea with the amount of richness (fat and flavor) in it, you woudn't want to eat a 300g of it…… 150g is perfect for 1 person.

        • I have no idea what these people are talking about. The marbling does not melt away. It renders into the meat and makes it incredible. It’s something that is just not possible to replicate. You either buy high grade Wagyu and cook it right or you settle for something not as good. There is no in between.

          • @[Deactivated]: What do you think rendering means? 🙄

            • @Bozman: I know exactly what it means. But people are talking about it like it melts and leaves the meat instead of infusing with it.

  • PM if anyone is interested to split in SE Melbourne.

    • oooo where abouts are you?

    • Sent you a pm

  • Ordered! Thanks OP.
Got the MBS7 in the last deal and just ran out. Simply amazing!

  • Did I miss out? There is no available delivery date?

  • Sad this is VIC only… LOOKS SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD :(

  • This is not food.

    • +3

You're right, it's more of a heavenly experience

      • -2

Good luck eating your “heavenly” corpse.

        • -1

Luck is not required. Just tolerance and common sense, which you lack. You’re vegan, good for you, enjoy your lifestyle because nobody gives a sh1t what you think.

  • How long do these keep?

    • Freeze it while still vacuum sealed and should last a year.

      • Technically yes. But even vacuum sealed a year is pushing it, you do lose quality. I’d say more like 3 months and defrost in the fridge to keep the same quality. After that in my experience it starts to degrade.

  • thanks ordered

  • +1

Lucky in these uncertain times I'm happy to save my dough with my pleb $20/kg scotch fillet :P

(j/k, actually more like if it's that expensive, I may as well pay restaurant price for a "Pro" do the cooking; I'll waste it likely poorly cooking it)

    • it's not hard to make a good steak. a simple hot grill or cast iron pan + salt and pepper.

    • You’ll pay around $80 or more to get one of these cooked for you in a restaurant. Get an Anova sous vide circulator. A good tub. A bag sealer and bags. Some salt, pepper and good quality butter and a cast iron pan. Google the method or use the Anova app for the steps and I promise you, you’ll make the best steaks you’ve ever had in your life when buying meat like this. Initial cost will set you back about $400 for all the gear you need but you only buy that once. One of the best investments I’ve ever made.

  • Not sure why marked expired. Still valid and in stock. Just have to logon to account first.

  • I've just order a block of 3kg. They are sliced 10 x 300g.

Anyone in Melbourne want to share these? PM me.

      • Hey mate here abouts are you located? I'm in North Melb.

        • Can't PM you. I'm CBD area.

    • PM'd

  • Ordered thx OP

  • Doesn't seem to work for me. I consistently get the error message:
"Warning: Gift Voucher is either invalid or the balance has been used up!"
tried with no spices, 2 of the same spice and 2 different spices, so far no luck :(

  • Great deal - works for me.

Re: 2 spices to rub on yourself for fun - is this for before or after eating the steaks?

  • +1

It doesn't look like marbling 9… more like a 7?

    https://www.steaksandgame.com/wagyu-beef-grading-and-marble-…

    • +1

Good eye - photos are from the previous deal which was a 7.

  • OP when does this deal run to or until stock last?

  • The Wagyu is showing as out of stock. ☹️ Not able to order.

    • +1

      Hello linni,
Added few packs in stock. I would rush, it will run out soon!

      • Phew got an order in thanks!

      • Hello imrant,

Any chance you could add a few more ?
I emailed a few weeks ago asking for this deal to come back on.
Have only seen it now and it's showing as out of stock.

  • Ordered! finally a good Wagyu deal for Melbourne!

  • Thanks OP - Got it last time, got it this time - Can't wait!!!

  • +1

I hope people dont use the rubs on this steak though…….. because you are eating it incorrectly. Totally waste of a steak if you do.

    • True that. All you need is salt and pepper. Personally just salt for me. Rubs are more for large cuts of meat you’d go low and slow like brisket, pork butt, ribs etc.

      • Yup. But i've seen people who cant cook meat properly or even a steak properly and they would use rubs….
If i have time i usually sous vide the steak then torch it using a propane torch, and optional sometimes even finish on a girdle pan to make the grid marks….

Then use the left over juices within the sous vide bag to reduce it down to a 'jus'.
