Recently come across two laptops
End up being $950
Both have FHD 15.6in screen
Differences:
1065g7 processor, mx230 graphics, 8gb ram 1tb hdd
Vs
7700hq processor, gtx 1050 graphics, 8gb ram 1tb hdd
I hardly game these days but if I do it’d be dota.
A lot of heavy duty spreadsheeting too and absolutely hate it when spreadsheet freezes
Question is, which laptop to go with?
Thanks
Which Is Better. 7700hq or 1065g7?

Opened box. With 1yr standard warranty.
So u reckon 7700hq is a no go?I had a laptop with it, no issues but considering your budget you should be able to get something better (overall laptop)
😴🖐 HDD's
😋👉 SSD'sThat 7700HQ + GTX 1050 laptop sounds like it might be a ASUS TUF gaming or similar? If so it's probably a much heavier laptop, while the 10th-gen GeForce MX230 device is most likely a lighter notebook.
Ultimately it depends on whether you want a heavier, faster desktop replacement laptop (short battery life) or a more mobile, lighter laptop with better power efficiency.
It’s Asus yes.
I want desktop replacement and yes will put in a ssd
Was thinking going for it even though 7700hq is a few years old now
Don’t really mind short battery life. If I can get 1-2hr out of it in return for stronger processing power then that’s all good with me.
Just that when I compare both processors 1065g7 seems like a stronger processor?
Came here for Levono Ryzen 4500U comments, dissapointed as deal expired
Btw, you can add a SSD easily from plenty of OzB deals and swap HDD to optical bay or 2nd HDD slot if there is a one.
7700HQ is a really good CPU back then but it is quite old for a new laptop now, MX230 vs GTX1050 mobile comparision.I think it will be better to research on some other laptop models as well instead of choosing one from those two.
.I have been out of market for quite some time.
My latest laptop had 4700mq so quite happy.
Couldn’t bear intel xxxxU processors.
That’s why thinking of a mid range HQ processor laptop as I don’t have too much to splurge right now
Neither are good for $950. Both have pretty weak graphics card and use the painfully slow HDDs. I assume they're second hand too
The i7-7700HQ CPU, whilest not bad, is 3 generations old. The jump from 7th to 8th gen is massive so I wouldn't recommedn it.
