75" TV - What to Buy?

Hi Ozbargainers,

After some advice. Wanting to buy a 75" TV around $2000 mark through Goodguys as I am eligible for family discount, what would you recommend? Have been looking at Samsung TU8000 or LG UN8100. Open to other suggestions/recommendations.

We have a brightly lit open lounge room with large windows. TV to mainly play in the background during the day. Predominate use for movies and sports at night (lights dimmed or off).

Doesn't seem like the best time to buy a tv at the moment option wise, so also happy to wait, if there is a prospect of some newer models in next couple of months. Cheers!

    Samsung TU8000:I got one few weeks ago. Compared to LG slimmer and less bazel around the TV, TV panel is better and brighter in my eyes. LG remote is outdated. I can do more when connected to my samsung phone/Tablet.

    Any reason you haven't considered a Sony?
    They are pretty competitive overall. Also Android TV is a plus imo. The updates and availability of apps is good

    Wait for the Sony X900H. Should be released August or September.
