Any recommendations - I'm looking for a quality tux. Myer, David Jones, specialist retailers? Any particular time a good time to buy?

Another good shop is Asos
A good time to buy from here is Black Friday which should be sometime in November (however, they may not have a black friday sale, it it is likely)

Sorry, I meant formal tux's that range from say $500 to the thousands - super 110+ wool, made in NZ, etc.

Instead of hiring one that can cost a couple of hundred bucks, it might be a better investment to buy one.
