Looking for a Laptop for Basic Needs (Budget $500)

Hi all,

after a laptop for basic usage.

  • Report writing (Office)
  • General web browsing

Looking to spend less than $500 if possible.
Needs to have a SSD.

Looking at the Dell refurbished laptops

How about a Chromebook?

You guys reckon that's a good option? Or are there better ones out there.

    A Chromebook will meet basic needs, if everything you need to do is on a web browser. It can also run a selection of Android apps as well, including Microsoft's own Office suite.

    Pay close attention to the laptop's LCD specification

    You definitely don't want a 1366 by 768 display if you can help it, they're awful for everything.

    Refurbished lenovo off Ebay.

    Personally i'm a fan of the x1 carbon.
