    • Good one. I was buying for company on credit card anyway but definitely a better option otherwise.

      • no worries

  • Can this be connected to amplifi as an extender? Or it wil be a separate ssid?

    • +1

It's a different product range. I don't believe the Amplifi access points communicate with the Unifi controller or vice versa.

Unless you have a specific need for the longer range 2.4Ghz then the UAP-AC-LITE from the same seller for $140 is a better buy, IMHO.

I do have a specific need…a factory over 1/2 an acre with multiple sheds with steel and concrete.

      • The U6-LR-US (the long-range Wifi 6 UAP) is currently in the Early Access store, so it will probably be towards the middle of next year before we see it in Australia (unless they decide to fast track the Wifi 6 product line). If you can wait, that's what I'd be looking at for your environment. Yes, it's an annoying wait, but realistically once you put it in, how long will you have it for? Five years? That's pretty typical, so is it worth the wait? Can you get away with something disposable in the mean time?

        • Already got 3, just needed one more.

In response, the price would probably be prohibitive on the new technology. It is not that important in this case, just for a bit of phone wifi and tablet timeclocks. It's better for me to put one of these in each shed than to try to get a hub for a tablet that will charge and do ethernet.

          • @dmbminaret: Given Early Access store pricing, these should be close to the same price as the devices they're replacing (although obviously without the discounting you see on older product lines).
