      This works for me

      I'm not a fan.

    • Do you have to install any extra roof support? Or it slots over your existing pendant / light?

      • This is a serious question. Can it replace an existing light fitting or does it require extra support?

        • +1

          Definitely extra support

        • Hello, its accessories include mounting brackets.

  • Hey OP - I've tried the code on both the silver and while models but get the error "The promotional code you entered is not valid". Is there an issue?

If someone gets this or already has one, I'd like to know if the 'light' on the remote can be permanently left ON. i.e I just want to use the wall switch the turn the light on/off rather than having to turn the switch on then pressing light on the remote.

    • +1

We have this fan. No the light won’t turn on by flicking the light switch, you then have to also press the light button on remote to turn it on.

    • I also have this fan and yes it will do it.
If I turn the power off/on to the fan, the light always comes on. We don't use the light, so i need to turn it off.

      • That’s not what ours does, I just tried it. Maybe they changed the settings.

        • The light needs to already be on when you flick the wall switch. Did you do this?

          • @S2: No, the light can be on or off, but the light seems to always come on.
I do not use the light, as this replaced a fan only. When I kill the circuit it is on, it always turns the light back on when the power is restored.

    • Mine works the way you want it too. After I switch the light on with the remote, I can use the wall switch to turn it on and off.
Alternatively, you could mount the remote next to your wall switch and use the remote from there too.
Edit: I just checked the link. Whilst the fans look the same, my remote is an older model without the timer settings. Comments from the seller below indicates the light still works as I've described it.

      • Yes, we later upgraded the product and added several functions.

  • what's the electrical connections like?

does this replace a single ceiling light with single switch?

disables the wall switch for the light, need to use the remote instead?

    • You need to use a remote control to control fans and lights, and the wall switch can only control lights.

      • thank's, that's what I thought,

when you say the wall switch can only control the light.
if the fan is on that circuit, does the light still go on and off using the wall switch?
obviously the fan won't work if the wall switch is off.

        • Yes

          • @Mountain air: thanks, i'll give it a go.

          • @Mountain air: double checking, I am talking about the fan's light.

I.e you remove the existing ceiling light and insert this fan/light combo.

does the light behave the same way turning on and off at the wall switch, or do you now need the remote?

            • +1

@thydzik: Hello, when the wall switch is turned on, the fan light will also be turned on. Then you can switch the light, switch the color temperature, switch the fan, etc. through the remote control.

              • @Mountain air: thanks again.

              • @Mountain air: I'm still confused. I'm replacing my ceiling light with this fan/light combo. Does the fan light automatically switch on when I flick the light switch? I.e without touching remote.

  • We bought one for $159 a while back on Amazon for a bedroom. Honestly I would not pay more than that for it. It’s basically a very cheaply made Chinese plasticy thing. It works fine, but just cheap build quality. We decided to go with better quality / durable Mercator fans for our other rooms and are much happier with them.

    • Thank you for this, was going to buy one tomorrow but might keep looking around.

    • Considering you only see the fan from a distance and you also said it works fine, can you pls explain what don't you like about it?

    • I have a very different opinion to this. I originally had a fan/light combo from Beacon Lighting installed. I can't remember the brand of the fans themselves. I had multiple problems with the Beacon fans and the light eventually failed beyond repair. The Beacon fan was replaced with this one. Here are the things I like about this fan. I thought it felt very solid and well built - it certainly is heavy. My old lights were AC connections, this one is DC which allows more setting steps. The shape of this fan pushes a lot more air than the previous fan - downside being, even on setting 1, it provides more airflow than I actually want. The light is LED which I expect to be more common now.

      • Solid and heavy? Did you actually assemble it yourself? It’s blades are thin hollow plastic blow mould. Squeeze them too hard and you would break them. The control module is also too big to fit inside the electrical hood cover. It had to be installed inside the roof cavity to fit, which is slightly dodgy. I do agree it works well but I question for how long.

        • I do agree it works well but I question for how long.

Fair point. I'm unsure how long they could last. In comparison to other DC fan/light combos, I've had good usage out of mine with no signs that it will fail. For the price, I think I've gotten value.
In relation to your other comments, I took it out of the box and put the blades and body together. It's my fan and I'm going to open it like a toy if I want to. An electrician installed it to the ceiling. It is hollow plastic and I didn't see any reason to squeeze them too hard. I expect many things to break if you squeeze them too hard. Mine didn't have to be installed within the roof cavity.

  • The blacks already at $189.99
I don't feel the white is any special deal with code.

    • yeah not really but I suspect black is not a great seller. I personally wouldn't buy for $100

      • Oh and regarding the seller. Be careful. Your comment just reminded me, I had to buy 4 of these fans before this seller actually delivered one! The first 2 bought together, and one separately never showed up, after 2 months waiting for the seller to reply to emails asking them to follow up. Eventually Amazon had to refund and I decided not to buy again after that, but another sale showed up 6 months later and grabbed one. This one actually arrived in a few days… Not sure what their deal is but i wouldn't expect any after sale service from this seller.
In hindsight, it was actually lucky, as after i saw the quality of these fans it meant i could buy some better quality ones to replace the ones that didn't show up.

  • Ps. I also wrote them a scathing review at the time, it never showed up on their amazon review page…

  • Hi just wondering how bright is the light? I plan to put it in living room. And is the light replaceable?
