I'm looking for large zip lock bags for food storage
Something like this, but not so expensive!

I think I know the ones you're talking about, but I'm after some more durable/ reusable ones
Kmart : https://www.kmart.com.au/product/3-pack-snack-pouches---larg…
Pretty good quality IMO
Thanks, I'm looking for some that are maybe twice that size, but otherwise that's exactly what I'm after
Only issue with these is making sure they are cleaned well. Food can be tricky.. cheap solutions usually don't hold up well I'm the long term.
Would old school jars be viable option? Cheap, easy to clean and last ages!! Also.. my fav part.. no plastic 👌
I definitely agree with you on single use plastic, that's why i'm trying to find something reusable.I don't mind plastic if it's reusable
I'm specifically looking for bags, I want to store fresh baked bread in the freezer, as well as a few other things.
Ahh I see. Yes, storing bread in a jar isn't going to work :P
Best of luck on your search!!
I have these and tbh get more frost on bread than anything else I have tried (eg normal ziplocks, freezer bags). I am not sure why, and I still use them as we don't freeze lots of bread or for long periods.
Try the original Ziploc brand, sold on Amazon and at Costco.
does it have to be fully waterproof? thinking outside the box here, what about a kayak dry bag? not sure if they're foodsafe though? based on your comment above about storing bread, maybe wrap it in muslin before popping it in the dry bag to limit contact with the dry bag itself?
i was actually thinking of that this morning, I saw some ebay 'bread bags' that looked suspicious like dry bags. I've got a few dry bags handy, I'll give it a go
would love to get an update if/when you get a chance to try it out and see please :-)
Haha I also have these bread bags. I was wrong before, these get more frosty inside than the silicone ones. They are great for containing crumbs though.
thanks for the info - I only freeze bread for a few days, sounds like it should work okay
@shakoo, i'll try to remember to update the thread in a few weeks
@Bren20: The dry bag seems to be working well!
I realised that I got them from an ozbargain link! www.ozbargain.com.au/node/146947
They're a good size, easily fit my loaves
@Bren20: nice one! thanks for the update
You can buy them in Ikea, they come in a box with two different sizes included. Can't remember the cost exactly but under $10. They are just like zip lock sandwich bags but larger.
