True but it's nice to have options.
'TIDSTAFF' gives you 15% off at TID, also works for snowinsurance.com.au.. not shabby!
Here are some comparison notes from my last trip when I checked about a year ago for what I needed. May be different now:

Covermore - super expensive
Itrek - no valuables cover until 3rd level of cover

Worldnomads.com - base $264. lloyds.
Need to specify contents. $1000 limit
$500 camera adds $25
$1000 notebook adds $50
Cheaptravelinsurance (Lloyds) $224I did look at insurance4less, but don't seem to have any notes.
I will check out scti next time, thanks :)
They also let me extend my cover while I was away and responded quickly. Thankfully I never had to test the claims.
The NAB Gold Debit card insurance is good for short trips, but there is a time limit if you are on a long trip. You also need a return flight paid before you leave, which sometimes I don't have.
Happy travels.
Thanks for documenting this. TI is a confusing product and there are so many different policies available and different providers. insurance4less , IMO have been the cheapest out of all of them.
I have used SCTI for the last couple of years and their price is much more competitive than this one (for good cover). Cannot comment on claims experience because I have never claimed. Personally I cannot use these guys because I am over 60 - it's very interesting which companies discriminate at different ages; TID became much more expensive for me after turning 60.
I don't know if I feel comfortable buying insurance from a company that spells it "insuranz"…
lol exactly what i was thinking
I haven't gotten a quote yet but I know for a fact these guys are pretty cheap for travel insurance : http://www.insure4less.com.au/
I'm going to SE Asia for 6 months next year and you can get basic medical cover for only $250~.I have a citibank gold card which has a complimentary travel insurance. My annual fee for the card is $149. The insurance came in handy when I had to be hospitalized while travelling in SE Asia! perhaps citibank gold card is a good option too!
10% off at TID is better IMHO
