  • got question

    wats the difference between
    UA46D6000 - $1275
    UA46D6600 - $1675

both are series 6, is the first one the old model? (with the metal cross legs)
are the panels the same, did see that the second had smart tv (from what i saw at myer)

    • A couple of things:

      The 6600 has

      • Sykpe compatibility
      • Built in Web Browser
      • PVR functionality (ie record tv to an external hard drive)
      • 2D to 3D up conversion of normal 2D viewing
      • 400hz CLear motion rate (as opposed to 200)
      • New Ultra slim Bezel

      Hope that helps?

      Cheers,

      Matt

      • aahhh icic thanks!
friend recommeneded series 6 around 2 years ago lol
and not sure if the new model is worth it…

        recommendations?

        interested in a 46 inch
not sure if i should get 6000 or 6600….

        • No problem!

Which TV depends a lot on what you do with it.

If you just watch standard TV and a few movies then the 6000 is probably best.

If you plan to use your TV more as a central hub (ie TV, Social media, Surf the web etc) then the 6600 is worth the extra few $$$

It really is a question only you can answer.

Maybe see what others think ??

        • aaahhh yep
          prolly just looking for TV

          i'll think about it
prices look quite good. hmmm i might need two telly's
          can i get extra discount?

          u are victoria based right?
          no sydney pick up?

i think based on a different 55" deal a couple days ago..
the only difference between 6000 and 6600 is 200Hz vs 400Hz.
So the higher the Hz, the higher refresh rate..
          great for fast action.. sports..

I've got a D6000 and a D8000 and from my perspective a lot of the extra features aren't really that compelling. The Web Browser isn't particuarly good, neither is the PVR functionality (given you can only record the channel you're watching). The 3D up conversion is also pretty weak.

The D6600 does come with wi-fi built in, which saves some money if that's how you'll connect to the net (if connecting via wired connection then either the D6000 or D6600 has that option built in). The D6000 does still have the Samsung Smart Apps and DLNA playback support built in which are the features I've found most useful with both my TV's.

The model which provides the best value for money in the Samsung range I've seen is the UA46D6003 - it's the same as the 6000 except for removing 3D support - and will generally save you several hundred dollars in the process. Given the lack of 3D content out there it's a worthwhile saving in my view.

        • Got the UA46D6003 from Good Guys a little while ago for $999, as gibspmuh stated, its very good value for money.

      • So what's the difference between the 6600 and the 7000?

        • The 7000 has:

          • The new (almost not there) clear bezel
          • 600hz Clear motion

…and thats about all I think!

  • @djones145

Nope … you can pickup in Sydney, Melbourne or Perth! (provided we have stock there!)

    • aaahhh thanks dude
i'll have to think about that then!

  • what is the price for sumsang plasma TV 58"-60" in any model?

  • seen samsung 40" led fhd tvs for 600-700 bucks.
thats around $300 cheaper than the price u listed..

even costco sells it for under 800

  • Hey mattwalker, do you have any of the UA46D7000 in stock at Perth?

    • +1

      Hi Giggidy,

I have none in there as at now but I have 3 arriving either tomorrow or Monday!

      • Thanks. Will have a think about it. If anyones contemplating this model its a good price, been watching it (come down) for a while now. Cheapest I've seen is ~$2000.

  • Good price, I have a Sony HX800 40" (3D TV) with unopened glasses and 3D accessories.

I would gladly trade it for the samsung series 7 3D TV for the PVR functionality.

    Anyone?

Do you guys do trades also>?

  • tehoriginal - The HX400 is a great TV - We dont sell Sony (yet!!!) but I am sure you will have no problem getting rid of that TV!

  • These prices are good, but I came across this site today, best prices I could find across the Samsung range.
    http://www.digitaltown.com.au/latest-products/samsung-series…

Also beware that Samsung has a current promotion (cash back) on selected tv's.
    http://samsung.com.au/promotions/tv-av/smarten-up-your-chris…

I hope to buy in the next few weeks based on these prices and the promotion

    Cheers

  • This thread is probably buried by now but thought I'd report back that I ended up buying my UA46D7000 through thecableconnection.com.au

Highly recommend this mob if you are looking for AV solutions.

    Thanks Matt
