Borderlands is $58 on Amazon. Not my type of game but thought I would share it for others.

Also Diablo 3 on Xbox is $25 if you have been living in a cave and don't own it yet.

Enjoy! :)

Bioshock for Switch listed at $58 too. Outer Worlds yet to catch up due to technical difficulties.

  • Anyone else find FPS on the switch impossible, particularly in handheld mode…?

    • Definitely need a pro controller for FPS but i'd just avoid FPS on the switch if possible

      • FPS games control far better on the Switch than other consoles due to most Switch ports including an option for gyro aiming. Nothing can beat a mouse, but gyro aiming is, by far, the best alternative. I'd rather play an FPS with a steering wheel than with an analogue stick, it's awful.

          Does borderlands offer gyro aiming?

          Edit: yes

I'm so put off the idea of having to use those tiny joysticks for fast paced FPS, that I haven't even bothered trying! I know people will say use the pro controller, but at that point I'm at home and might as well play on a real console or PC.

Embrace the gyro controls. Once you learn to adapt you use the sticks for large movements and then motion for smaller adjustments which is, I assume, what your issue is with the Switch FPS controls specifically

      • Yeah I've used gyro controls on PUBG mobile and Zelda BOTE, and both work alright (I find pubg better out of the two). So might give it a shot if it goes on sale again.

Nah, I love it, and play exclusively in handheld mode. I've clocked Doom, Wolf 2, Doom Classic 1-3, Duke 3D a bunch, Ion Fury, Bulletstorm, and probably several others with no issue and am working my way through the Pre-Sequel for the first time now fine. But then, I love portables, and the only thing that got me to finally play Borderlands 2 was the Vita port, which was missing two triggers and two clickable sticks, but I got by fine there too.

      • Tips?

        • It literally comes down to adaption and utilising the tools they give you which, in the case of the switch, is gyro aiming. Once you adapt it will become second nature

    • Me when trying to aim with a controller

      • That went from funny to cringey after the first 30 seconds

  • Have this on switch and I love it especially playing multiplayer with my brother. There's so much content for the price even if you have to download most of it. I Play it docked with pro controller and no issues. For those playing handheld have you tried the gyro controls, apparently it makes it easier.

    • Thank you for sharing on the controller. Out of curiosity, how big was the download when you first started playing? Thank you!

  • For those on the fence about motion and gyro controls, here is a well worded and researched opinion piece on motion controls in gaming in general

    • Hilarious!

Don't see how the idea is hilarious. If you haven't tried motion controls (or tried them for a few minutes and then got frustrated and turned them off because it's different) you're intentionally handicapping your gameplay and relying on pre-programmed assistance

I was talking about the way they presented it, and it's contents….very funny. Not judging the fact that gyro is good or anything…

            @JuryWheel: Yeah fair enough.

My bad for coming off as defensive

I'm sure we all know, but remember that only Borderlands 1 is on the cart, 2 and TPS are download codes.

    • Is 2 and TPS counted as separate games or dlc?

      • +1

So here's what you get in the box,

1 is on the cart, and all it's updates and whatever else, I haven't played it yet so idk what's on the cart.

Then there's one single code. That code gets you "The Handsome Collection" same as on PS4/Xbone. Buuuut when you actually go to download it, 2 and TPS are separate downloads.

TPS is around 12GB I think, and 2 was 20 something but I haven't downloaded it.

The eShop itself sells 1 on it's own for I think 50, and the Handsome Collection for I think 70, pricing could be a bit off I'm going off memory, but you will obviously get 1% of the 50 and 5% of the 70 (or whatever they work out to be) back in gold coins too.
