Press your mouse cord against the table and you can feel the difference. The mice feels lighter

You can achieve the same result with a cheap binder clamp.

I just got a cheap no-name one off ebay, was something like $10 delivered. Seems to feel smoother to me than having the mouse drag around on the desk

I use one, don't get that unsuspecting pull (unless that's your thing).
