Qantas: Status Credit Support - up to 150 Status Credits a Month Depending on Tier

60

Status Credit Support is being offered to members who are impacted the most by travel restrictions; those with a status end date between March 2021 to August 2021.

Eligible members will receive a monthly ‘stipend’ of bonus Status Credits which will count to reaching and keeping all tiers, plus lifetime status. However, it does not count to Loyalty, Platinum or Platinum One bonuses.

Here are the number of Status Credits that eligible members will receive each month, for up to six months:

Silver: 5 SCs per month
Gold: 15 SCs per month
Platinum: 50 SCs per month
Platinum One: 150 SCs per month

Where can I see my status end date?

You can view your membership status end date on your digital card on the Qantas App. Simply click on ‘My QFF’ and the digital card icon top right-hand corner of the screen.
How long will Status Boost and Status Support credits last for?

The bonus Status Credits from Status Boost and Status Support will be valid until the end of the membership year in which they are awarded.

I think this has been posted? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/551513

    • That's the credit boost, once off. This is a monthly ongoing one.

While I appreciate that, I think it is the wrong approach. They should simply review next year and extend it by another year, as it would not really cost them anything (I have lifetime gold so don't care too much).
What are 90 points (6X15) going to do for you if are currently Gold; even if they extend this another six month, 180 is not going to do anything for you.
I understand of coursework that they want to encourage people to fly more again but many (past) frequent flyers like myself couldn't if the wanted to as most bigger companies still have so many restrictions in place - and with the rate we are going at the moment, yes I am talking to you Victoria, we are not going to see any significant (positive) changes any time soon.

    • same. none of my customers are taking meetings in Australia, and there are no regional meetings in person even if I could leave.

This should be in the forums, not as a deal post.

You'll still need to do the qualifying flights (I have 8 months left to do 2 quick Sydney/Canberra and return flights it seems). I seemed to have received a 60 SC bonus as well somewhere in the last few days.

Either way, 90 SC in the next 6 months isn't going to help me retain gold and I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

I was very happy to receive the free status credits this month. It all adds up towards lifetime gold.

Except for adding SCs towards lifetime totals not sure what this promo achieves? Yes I was happy to have my status extended but most of my historical travel was international so that won’t happen anytime soon. Just pause the entire program until unrestricted travel is allowed again.

    • It will get people 'that much closer' to retaining their status. When you get close enough, and the fact you still need to do your qualifying flights, means that you're more likely to book a flight to retain your status.

Hopefully a Virgin Status match next year.

Well that’s if if they want to stick the knife in Virgin 2.0 which I’m sure they do.
