What Is The Best Carpet Cleaner to Buy to Make It Look Like New?

I have hired the carpet cleaners twice from Woolworths, but was hoping for a better result even though I vacuumed, then did it four times over each hire. I have a short brown carpet that I want to hopefully steam n clean and make it look fresher - in particular not so flat. I'd like to buy a machine that does a better job than the hire ones. I felt the hire one got dirt out (water was always a murky brown), but the carpet remained flat looking. I'm in Sydney and would love to hear all about what you know to make my flat brown carpet fresher and fluffier, rather than flat. Thank you!

  • What kind of vacuum cleaner are you using first ?

    • Wertheim pricey one from Godfrey's.

  • Most professional carpet cleaners use a rotary brush similar to a rotary floor polisher to fluff up the carpet pile thus making it separate and look new again. I'd look at getting electrodry or someone in to do it, if you have hire a machine multiple times that probably 100 bucks think you can get 3 rooms done foe 200 professionally?

Ah I see! Yes, you are right. That effect is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you! I have two rooms and a hallway, only a small place, but so tired of the carpet looking so flat and ugly.

Yeah costs me around $120 at WW by the time you buy the cleaning stuff - though I have heaps left over. But I was sad I never got a fluffy effect. It seemed to clean well, just not give me the new effect I desired.
