While looking for details on the Music Hub Deal I found banners on the Samsung site saying they were giving away Navigon Turn by Turn Navigator free for Galaxy's and Tablets. It looks like it has lane guidance etc. and downloads the maps to your phone (250mb I think) with supposedly free map updates.

I haven't tried it yet (currently downloading maps) but its free so how badly wrong can you go? Just search for it on the Android marketplace and you'll find the free app for Samsung devices. Hope its what you are after :-)

    This came pre-installed on my galaxy tab. Not sure if it has always been free though.

      Came pre-installed on my S2 as well.

      Here's the link to the app on android marketplace so you don't all have to go searching for it. I don't know why OP didn't link to it in the first place…

    It's been free since the first Galaxy S and comes preloaded on the S II, so I don't think it's a bargain since it's always been free.

      Could you tell where it is? Now I've installed it on my S2 is a totally different icon to any app I have on the phone and the interface is different to the map functions I have installed but maybe I am looking in the wrong place.

      However mine is a shopping square phone, perhaps local telco phones already have it installed in which case this is only a bargain for people like me who have non telco phones and didn't know about it.

        Just look in your applications folder? Should be called 'Navigation' with this app icon.

      does not come preloaded on all SGS 2 but can be downloaded for free from the Samsung App site, I think the S2 Navigon deal has been posted before IIRC or might have read it on WP

    Its great software for free :) been using it for yonks! Other countries aren't so lucky, this deal is only for aussies :)

      Not quite always free but it's been free since the launch of the first Galaxy Tab… I believe I mine have even been the first post on this topic.

    So i think its a dupe - different way of getting it i suppose, but same app isnt it ? (navigon navigation)

      Get it from the market, then you'll get updates. Getjar doesn't support updates yet.
