Sam coco's great place
except for the gross mark-downs food table at the back which usually contains half-rotting food at only a slight discount
They sometimes push the whole fruit/veg is just fruit/veg.
Some great deals, decent products, occasionally rotting.
Definitely market seconds aka the DFO of fruit and veg but hey, you gotta sell.Good international foods though.
This is Coco Bananas.
Makes you wonder what price the farmer had to sell them for originally.
We paid top dollar, they may be cheap but quality is fantastic.
Surely it cost you more to transport them to the store?
Moving lots of kgs of stock is not cheap. It would cost more than 9c/kg in petrol to transport. Wondering why the farmer doesn't just use them as fertiliser.
9c a kg?!
$90 a tonne!
Hi Rep, nice bargain. How much to post a box to Sydney?
In case anyone's wondering what a Cavendish banana is, it's generic banana. 97% of bananas sold in Australia are Cavendish.
I love generic bananas.
the best imo
Personally I only eat Gros Michel
I used to freeze bananas and put them in my oats. Tastes a bit funny.
Maybe you should take the peel off first
Make banana bread with more banana than bread?
breaded banana
Been to Cocos and won't go back. Overpriced by around 150 to 200%. Has anyone tried these bananas to confirm they are not bland and tasteless?
lol at 9c/kg why didn't you throw caution to the wind and buy one to try for a whopping $.01?
pay cash.
Good as a mash to start brew and distil
where do you go instead?
Homemade banana milkshake or Boost Juice?
Former.
decent sized whole green cabbages are $1.69ea

Coco is good but during first days of covid lockdown in March prices were jacked up so I had to go to ALDI. Sometimes greed has a bad aftertaste.
Agreed.
I wonder if they are imported bananas and not Australian…
If someone can import them (pay for a huge ship) and then sell them at 9c/kg, then good on them.
As far as I know imported bananas are not allowed in Australia other than banana chips.
Grabbed a couple of kg and half a cabbage at 1am. Not sure why, but it’s too late to question my decision in the sober light of day.
Wow they are open very late!
24hrs actually!
Bananas look good. Stacks of them too
Just went and got a heap, Couldn't see any nearby scales so I just loaded up two bags got to the counter and I had 14kg they just evened it out :)
Was happy to pay a $0.35 eftpos surcharge lol
