For my phone of 5 inch size,
battery life last around 3 hours a day for normal use, is this normal for a battery of this size.

its sd820, and battery replaced a year ago, i can use power saving mode but it just super slow to do anything which defeats the purpose of sd820 but battery life improves a lot.
Battery probably replaced with a generic of lower capacity and/or quality. Even if it was replaced with an actual oem (and not a fake oem), likely used or old stock (batteries degrade over time, especially if not stored properly).
With a new phone, I expect over a year of decent battery life, about 1.5 to 2 years. Once I have to start replacing the battery, I consider myself lucky if it makes it a full year.

they do that, thats so dodgy practice imo considering they charged full for the battery
