Assuming OP is on an off-peak tariff.
Then you need to assume that you get a lot more off peak with Tango therefore go Tango rather than AGL.

I only average 5Kwh a day. Put the reverse cycle on a little and get 8Kwh on cold days. So might not make much sense for me.
Will check them but so far, Tango/Globird/EA are all massively expensive for AUSNET going by their web price.
As a comparison, I now have 29c and 14c Peak and OffPeak. The cheapest of all these 3 companies above are 34c 21c Peak OffPeak
AND they don't lock in the Supply Costs now, only Rates and not all are offering it (EA for example doesn't).

are you sure you are contracted? nearly all, if not all, are not locked in - they will be 'benefit periods' where you get your rates, discounts etc for, but not contracted in to stay

even without those special offers, AGL is ranked #1 in powercor area, and #2 in Ausnet area (by only $6) so it's worth taking them up anyway for their app & 24x7 service. source - canstarblue
I have a few mates who work at AGL if you really that keen.
I checked the rates for Victoria. It is actually cheaper to go with Tango.
With AGL what gets you is peak is from 7am - 11pm M - F then rest is offpeak.
Tango is peak from 3pm - 9pm 27.9c incl GST, rest of the time it is 18.4c.
