Best Baby monitor dual camera

Hi all,

Looking for a baby monitor with two cameras.

Preferred is one that comes with the display unit in case parents are baby sitting (post iso) and they are not tech savvy enough to download an app and use it.

Don’t care for features such as “white noise” or music being played.

Don’t really have a budget. I want one that works well and battery is decent. Had one unit in the past where the battery would die after 10minutes of use

Thanks all

We've had the Oricom 710 with two cameras since 2016. It's been used everyday until now and still working.

Batteries don't last forever and will need to be replaced when they don't hold charge anymore. A genuine replacement is about $30 on ebay I think.

I think the monitor is expensive considering it's very primitive technology. But it is easy to use, and has done the job.

  • Honestly I've had great success with basic models like the VTech BM3300 which is often on sale for circa $120-$130ish online, and adding an extra camera is only about $60. You might also want to invest in an extra charging cable (to be conveniently located) since these things only last a couple of hours on battery with their constant connection/video display. I get that you don't care for extra features like the music but what is useful are features such as ability to turn LCD off but keep audio on (great at night), visual display of sound/volume noise (this way if you have it on mute you can still see if there is sound or gauge how loud it is), and visual indicator of temperature/humidity (since it's potentially a cause for why a baby might complain/wake up).

If you're planning to use it with your parents, there are some slightly more expensive VTech models with much larger screens and during a recent Baby Bunting sale, I bought the BM5100 for $149 and an extra camera for $74.

I previously had an Arlo Baby and raved about it but in hindsight it had connectivity issues after half a year and just became spotty at best… whereas the VTech seems to be so simple but it works well everytime all the time, and without the same lag which the Arlo Baby had.

    • The Arlo Baby camera was terrible. Our is still sitting there as a back-up but it's an absolute nightmare with connectivity. A real pity as the image quality was incredible compared to anything else I have seen.

I used to be a huge fan but the connectivity issues is what killed it for me. Reliability (and quietness) is most important for a baby camera to me.

  • This works with iOS and droid using wifi. It can be portable with a power bank.

  • TP-Link Tapo C100 - often bundled in a 2 pack these little webcams kick ass, easy to setup, requires a wife network, but works really great whether you’re at home or out and about. Cost me $79 for two and I use the app through my phone - my wife has it on hers too and its great. Highly recommend.
