How does the infused process work?

Is a syrup added to the bean? Could this clog up grinders if you are adding sugar to them?

Are the beans lower quality because of this?

Is it zero carb like black coffee?

Saw similar questions on another post of yours but didn't see a response.

The FAQ’s somewhat answer some of these e.g. “ Straight after roasting we use essential oils and natural flavours to infuse the coffee. The oil penetrates the bean carrying the flavours into the bean. The beans are then packed and sealed.

How does flavour infused coffee differ to using syrups?

Besides the artificial flavours, preservatives and sugar normally found in syrups the flavour infused coffee is not sweet and it retains a good balance between the natural taste of finest Arabica coffee and added natural flavour.”

So sounds like it’s not a syrup but still I’m not sure on the effects on the grinder. There’s other FAQ’s about calories etc but not really a concern of mine more worried about the grinder

@Japius thank you for the question. This is a common misconception. There is absolutely no effect on the grinder when grinding flavour infused coffee beans. We have been grinding flavour infused coffee for years now we have had no issues. Also, none of our long term customers have reported grinder issues to us. The flavour is infused into the bean using essential oils that carry the natural flavour into the bean. Coffee beans also naturally contain oils.

Thank you for your question. Our FAQ goes into the details of the infusion process and how this differs to the use of syrups please refer to https://www.thecoffeebeancompany.com.au/faq-privacy-policy/

We do not add syrups or additional calories. We use natural flavours and essential oils to infuse the flavour into the coffee bean.

We pride ourselves with the quality of our coffee and we only use high quality Arabica beans that are roasted on demand usually 2-3 times a week to make sure it's fresh when delivered.

Please refer to the comments on Ozbargain from customers who have purchased from us.

I don't like to be critical of an enterprise, but really, that website is an example of the sort of online shopping I avoid like the plague.

I went to look for decaf beans.

Difficult font and no search function, so I had to click through multiple pages of pictures of coffee labels, which are not as easy to parse as typed list. No text description or price unless you click on the label. No text description under icons which are not always self explanatory (a scroll and a padlock for a wishlist ?)

Sorry, but you've lost me as a customer, but maybe I'm not your target demographic.

    • @Jedbra Thank you for letting me know. We have attempted to make the website clean and elegant. The description and price come up as you hover over the product pictures. This may differ depending on the device you use. I will bring this up with the design people. Really appreciate your feedback.
