  • Is the 4k 120hz pass through?

    • No they're all 60hz

    • You can still plug things straight into your TV. If both support eARC then you should be fine with still getting HD audio back to your receiver.

      • I'm doing this now with a LG CX and a AVR-S750H. I confirm eARC works as advertised.

    • Genuine question, how much content is there for 120hz 4k? I thought most movies are 24p with a scattering of 60p stuff.

Next gen consoles are few months away and will support 4K 120FPS games. While probably not at launch and still 1-2 years away, you don't tend to change $1,000 AV receivers often.

  • Thanks for a deal on interesting brands of receiver

  • +1

Why doesn't JB HiFi stock any of the higher end receivers? The Denon AVR-x3600h or AVR-X4700H or even the lower AVR-X2600H series is not there. X1600H is as good as it gets. ¯(°_o)/¯

    • Exactly - it’s only the niche audio video stores who stock those and the prices remain sky high for the top end models with small discounts here and there. It’s weird that none of the big boys stock them

      • Yeah agree. Maybe they can do a special order though? I might try and see if they can get the better models from the supplier.

    • Why doesn't JB HiFi stock any of the higher end receivers?

Because they'd never sell them? The higher end models are higher end mostly because they stuff more and bigger amps into them, maybe some bigger power supplies or flashier room correction. The odds of someone walking into JB to buy a surround receiver and asking the salesdroid "show me your 11 channel models" is pretty slim.

      • Yeah, maybe it's just a case of not being able to move enough stock of the mid range and above Denon kit to have the stock in the warehouse. Surely they can have special order from the distributor though. The ones I listed above are not the high end ones, actual low-mid and mid range. It's not always about the number of channels, there are other features like Audyssey MultEQ XT32 and watts all channels driven which are higher on my list, although I am keen for Dolby Atmos too. FWIW, the AVR X1x00h and X2x00h are 7.2, X3x00h and X4x00h are 9.2 and the first to get XT32 room correction, and finally X6x00h and X8x00h are 11.2 channels.

  • Shipment delayed to early September :(
