Hi
Just discovered how much cheaper pet medications can be compared to buying them from your vet.
eg: Vetace 5mg
My vet charges $160.05 for 42 tablets.
Online is $55 for 28. So for the same money i would get 76 tablets, almost double.
Frusemide 20mg. Vet is $30 for 50 tablets
Online is $5.95 for 100. So ten times the price…
Just google the medication and all the pet chemists show up.
Your vet needs to write a prescription for your animal and may charge for this. Some vets wont write a script, so find a new vet.
i think it depends how quick you need the medication and how much your vet charges for prescription. Some vets charge up to $30 or more per script. After my dog had an operation to have the liver tumour, my dog was on Denosyl tablets to help to improve her liver function. $100 for 30 tablets. I now buy online for less than half that price. My dog also needs eye gel. The eye specialist charges over $30. Chemist Warehouse sells for about $10 as that eye gel also can be for human use. It is not cheap to have a pet.
