looking for some speakers and hoping someone is able to recommend me something which is decent and within my budget.
Ideally i'd like to keep cost to be around $20-$40. this one is the cheapest at jb (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/logitech-z150-multimedia-…) not sure of quality and whether i can get something decent for cheaper.

I dont think for 20-40 you are going to get anything "Decent" it will just be something that produces sound.
I'd try and find something like the Logitech Z623 on Gumtree
Those Logitechs will sound awful. For your budget go a used set from gumtree as suggested above.
I have Creative Pebble and think they are pretty good. I am no audio technician or anything but bass seems good too considering no subwoofer.
check local marketplace sometime theres alot bose companion 2 forsale around 50-70 ono. Others try x530 and z623 or any 5.1
The Edifiers seem to be the OZbargain go to.
although a bit more than the $20-$40
worth the investment though.
