Is the charger a smart one?
I'm having a problem with a couple of dead seeming eneloops that won't charge on the dumb charger that came with.
I had a similar problem with my charger "La Crosse", then I found a hack. Get a charged battery and 2 wires. Connect +ve to +ve, -ve to -ve and hold for about 5 seconds. That would give eneloops enough charge to then be detected by the charger.
Could also use alfoil. Just tear off some bits.

@SnoozeAndLose: Ikea, Logan qld.
@spock: how did you get $7.99?
@Indomie5: On sale, I just happened to be there and seen them on sale that day that was October last year.
I bought a couple of packs of LADDA from Ikea 2 years ago ended up with pretty rubbish autonomy. Both AA and AAA.
Using a Chevron charger from woolies. Maybe just a bad batch
I think they update to Eneloop equivalent last year when they raise the price from $10 to $15
Just looked at the pack I bought on Sunday.
