Anyone has night time recording sample to provide for reference?

    • +1

Mate, I just posted the night (Tunnel) footage. it is clear enough to see rego

      • Tunnel is still pretty well lit. I am wondering the video quality from on the street at night

        • +1

          check the new pic

          • @Kay96: Nice. Looks pretty good. Too late for me now, all sold out in my area.

          • +2

            @Kay96: Where is the link?

  • Battery or capacitor?

    • -2

Nah, just enough to save the video without losing video. Trust me, I used it for a week and it is doing a great job

    • Manual says non-replaceable Lithium ion battery

      • +3

Well there is a risk that it explodes in summer.

        • -8

Austrian made for use in Australia. Navman is a lot better compared to Samsung S7

          • +6

@Kay96: Doesn’t mean Australian tech doesn’t go wrong. That’s why higher end models all use capacitors instead of batteries.

          • -3

@Kay96: If you're gonna talk trash, at least get your facts right…

          • @Kay96: you even got the model wrong.

            • @aveeno bb: He said Austrian made too.

            • -3

@aveeno bb: You should probably leave the site. Specifically this post. Do your own research. I am not pushing you to buy this

              • +3

@Kay96: Mate, Note 7 is the one blew up. Do you own research or fine tune your language skills.

Are you guys gonna scrutinise the crap outta them? They just posted a dash cam deal for around $50. Take it or leave it. The hell were you guys expecting, a rocket guidance system?

Also thanks for the deal OP.

  • +1

    Bought one thanks

  • +1

    Thanks OP, just bought one.

  • how does this compare to Viofo a119?

    • 3times less in price with Navman 1 year warranty and HD recording. nothing beats it

      • do you know if the Navman have parking mode?

        • Not this model

          • @Kay96: thank you

          • +2

@Kay96: Are you sure? the manual seems to suggest it does have parking mode if the power is connected to an external power source i.e the car battery constant with a cable you can buy separately

    • The viofo’s are going to be much better but there is a price difference since this one is on clearance. Capacitor vs battery, 1440p vs FHD, although 4K models exist too. Doesn’t say anything about FPS so I’m going to assume it’s 1080p30fps.

      • missed the A129 duo sale last month!thought for $51 inc micro SD card can't go wrong.

        • Being Australia I wouldnt pick anything without a supercapacitor. But as you say $51 is cheap and if you like it, you can get a better one in the future.

        • -1

A129 duo plus is coming soon. Better wait

  • I bought this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/541646 just for the sake of reviewing it (since there aint any reviews online), and im wondering how does this Navman one compare to the Laser one i got from Big W for $29.

(was placing an order at my local store but sold out in the process)

    • sometimes it is there in-store and does not show online. I bought mine and Cannington, WA and online it was showing no stock.
Try Click and collect if they can transfer from another store to your home store

      • No luck. It was showing in stock at one of my nearby stores. Then now nothing, completely none, wont even take me to checkout.

        • are u in WA?

  • +1

    ordered one.

  • +1

just saw the accessory has parking mode hard wiring kit,I guess this will have parking mode if hard wired?I already have hard wiring from previous dashcam which is playing up,hope it enables the Navman parking mode

  • +1

Ordered one thanks Op bargain, it will do the job for the rear window, of course I do have one in front also.

  • +2

found the Product manual if you want more info on it: http://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_FileReader.aspx?fileid… the manual relates to two models so it shows features from both FOCUS100 FHD / FOCUS400 Dual

  • Can’t find any closest store in Victoria.
However, Supercheapauto got the same thing, Navman Focus 100 FHD Dash Cam for $129.

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/navman-navman-focus100-1…

Does anyone know, if they beat repco price ?

    • yes I think so

    • Yes I've been successful getting them to price match repco a few times.

    • Wonder the same

  • does anyone know what’s the fps of this dash cam?

    • Considering most Navman cameras record at 30fps, I’m going to assume this more budget model is the same.

    • Yep, 30 fps. There is a 50 and 60Hz setting but I suspec this actually changes it from 25 to 30 fps.

  • +1

Had a scroll through Repco and found the FOCUS400 Dual also in clearance for $134.25. RRP is $249.

    https://www.repco.com.au/en/in-car-technology/driver-assist/…

It qualifies for free shipping, if you're an imprisoned Victorian, like me.

    Thanks OP!

  • +1

As a pro tip, if you're wanting to use it as evidence in case of an accident make sure to set the time: your image (if it was yours) shows the time as in 2019

    • yeah I have been so lazy to change date and time. I will update soon.

      • Hi Kay96, can you tell me which stores in perth have stock out of the 23 in stock?

        • +1

Too late now. There were 23 when I posted this ad. Now I can see few in baldivis and busselton. Buts its a good drive

  • Bought the 400, thanks! Have two Navmans and they have always been super reliable - hope this follows suit!

    • extra camera for more than double the price?

        • GPS tagging and double warranty - worth it for me…
  • +1

    Thanks op.
Bought one for the Mrs car.

    • +7

I considered buying one for the Mrs but that would just give the police more evidence against her. I've seen how she drives.

  • Thanks Kay96, great price - got 2

  • Just bought one from Kelmscott, thanks OP. Anyone have any idea how much it might cost to hard wire it in?'I have a 2011 Mazda CX7, if that makes any difference.

  • Does anyone know if buying two of these for front and rear recording makes sense?

    • +3

Technically buying 4 of them (front, back, left, right) makes sense. It just depends how much you want to spend.

      • Ahh cool, so you don't need a '4 in 1' dashcam set to cover that effectively? I'm still a noobie.

        • +1

The best way to look at it is that each unit only covers the direction it's facing, like a camera. So if you want more coverage then you need more units.

  • +2

out os stock cannot order online?

  • What's the chances of Supercheap price matching? I've got gift cards to use.

  • Ordered for the rear of my car.

  • Lol, this could be used as a wide angle webcam as well.

  • Awesome deal OP, thanks. Just happen to live close to the Busselton shop so managed to snag one. Picking it up tomorrow 👍

  • Any recommendation of a good build quality model with capacitor & park mode without hardwire

    • Does such thing even exist? “Without hardwire”, in theory you can try to get a motion detection security camera from Aldi instead then. It detects and records movement if someone or another car gets near you while your car is parked and also detects and records motions when your car is moving. Only downside is you still need to charge the camera and risk the battery explodes in summer.

  • How would you access the recorded video? Does it connect to phone via wifi, or do you have to remove the SD card to view the recordings.

    • After reading the manual you’ll need to insert the card in to a card reader. The manual also recommends MiVue Manager software but hopefully that’s not required.

    • No WiFi. I think that's more important than GPS, so my 2nd DashCam will have WiFi.

    • just installed mine, yes, need to remove SD card, very disappointed, thats essential!looks like I need to have a back up sd card, only way to save the video is to eject the sd card before it's over written, and wait till you are home.

  • I know this comes with an SD card but I was considering buying a second. If there’s a crash I want saved, I could eject the first card and insert a second card and be certain that the crash won’t be recorded over. Thoughts?

    • Get the 2nd with 64-128GB (might work with larger). They are cheap & reusable (on your mobile). You could corrupt the content when removing it if it's writing at that moment.

      • So you’re suggesting a single large SD card, right?

        • +1

When you buy larger(est), you will have your original 16GB as backup. You can still have more, or backup to hard disk before you overwrite the content & delete after review. Check this about different modes of recording.

  • Thanks OP. Looks like a good deal for a well known brand. The site has a vehicle check tool and my 3-year old car got “This product may not fit your vehicle.” Hmm…

      • Thanks hbutt but not really as yours is only 720P, not 1080P.

        • +1

I didn’t realise, confusing says FHD and 720p. Btw just got my Navman and quality for $50 is terrific.

          • @Okayy: Did you get it delivered? I got a Toll notification this morning. I’m hoping it’s my dash cam.

            • @sween64: I collected from nearby store.

          • @Okayy: I took too long to decide and missed out :-(

  • I just cancelled my click and collect order from Kelmscott, WA, so there should be one there if anyone's interested. Maybe call first to confirm they've still got it

    • Now $69
