      Same here but my sensor is the original xiaomi, had it for more than a year and haven't replaced the battery yet. Been very reliable so far, I've set an automation to send notification and record a video in
      xiaofang camera if the garage is opened. Also have sensor in all windows and doors and set an automation to set off the alarm if any of the windows/doors is opened in the middle of the night or anytime when no one is home.

      @harry2015 - is that on a roller door? can you post a picture of the garage install? I haven't figured out an optimum location for it on mine.

  guys, a couple of questions .. if someone can clarify please..
  1- If I want to use these sensors with Conbee 2 (with Home Assistant), do I still need to buy the Aqara Hub?
  2- I have an existing HUB (Xiaomi Mijia Hub) which is connected to Xiaomi MI sensors etc, can this HUB be used for these aqara sensors?

        Conbee 2 can be used with ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, however I found Deconz to be more user friendly.

  I thought of a handy use case for myself. During the spring and summer we leave the window in the spare rooms open for breeze and ventilation. But because the spare rooms are usually closed, we can forget that the windows are open. This is a problem when it rains, as it often will during spring in particular, as the wind inevitably blows the rain straight in through the open window. So, my plan is to set up a routine that, if rain is detected AND a window is open, an alert will be sent and (if I can get it working) an Echo announcement made to tell us to close the windows.

    You could get a water leak sensor, so if the it rains enough on it when you position it on the window it would trigger the alert.

  Don't really neeeeeeed it (kinda like everything else I buy on OB 😁) but would be handy for upstairs slide doors.

  If I search on OB I have seen lower prices before.
