    Buy Australian Made

    • +4

Considering Australia killed almost all manufacturing and continue to offshore everything possible under the sun, (don't blame overseas workers, blame corporations), in the end, the only Australian left will be https://cdn.downunderendeavours.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/…

well omg is made in uk which is interesting not china

Blame shoppers. People buy the cheapest they can possibly get. For example on labour, hard to beat paying some poor Sri Lankan chap $1/hour compared to local rates.

For this product however, there are local options.

        https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/65008/eart…

Personally in terms of supporting our economy, and reducing shipping, I prefer to buy Australian stuff.

          Lol earth brand is shit.

@Slippery Fish: Except for dish washing tablets. They're the best we've found and I'm pretty sure they've scored #1 a few times in comparison tests over the years. I think we tried one of their shower cleaners which was garbage

            • @johnnytran: We use them in child protection houses and the washing stuff wasn't as good as the Aldi powder I use at home, the dish washing liquid is rubbish, and some other items we didn't think were great.

Maybe if your considering green cleaners they rant bad but chemicals work well usually lol. That said the wool wash is great at giving the wash machine a good clean cycle so no odours etc build up.

    Great work - OP. Thanks.

Not sure how this works as a detergent, but it's apparently the best slime activator money can buy. My daughter has been asking me for ages to try and get it from Amazon, but it's normally much more expensive, and without the money off promo…

The pods are much more convenient.

It's much easier to pop one in your kids lunch box than having to pour it into a separate small bottle.

These are more of a home thing. Mix with warm milk. On the stove, preferably.

    • +2

Also my kid can’t finish a 500mL bottle of Tide, let alone a 2.95L jug. Maybe this would be useful in a party setting, but you’d risk lookIng a bit silly drinking from a Tide jug that big if you were by yourself.

  • I love Tide. It was $5x.xx previously.

  • I'm assuming top and front loader ok.

    • Bad assumption. The US are top loaders only, like we used to be, so formulations based on that.

You could probably reduce usage to be viable but it would be trial and error.

  • Add detergent, then add clothes, hmm…

Good deal but it's cheaper per litre to get the Big W deals for

    Cold Power
    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/cold-power-advanced-clean-li…

    Fab
    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/fab-fresh-blossoms-liquid-la…

And you can also add the 5% wish gift card on top.

love the advertising "ten times the cleaning power" 64 washes per 2.95 lt bottle means that at "ten times the cleaning power" you would need to use around 460mls of the opposition cleaner I can't think of any detergent that recommends almost 1/2lt per load

    • maybe the un-concentrated supermarket brand ones that are around $2. They say to use two cups for a large load.

  • compare to omo in woolworths, it's not cheap at all. Bio attact $5/L, 9L $45

    • you should work it out by wash, they don't all use the same amounts per wash so a pure volume calculation like that won't be the right comparison

      • take omo as example, 20washes per Litre, tide 21.3 washes per litre, no difference

        • +1

          I meant cost per wash

Biozet currently (so changes back tomorrow but regularly on special in cycles much like omo/dynamo/cold power) is $11 at WW now, 40 washes
          so 27.5c per wash.

          This Tide is 64 x 3 = 192 washes @ 47.45 = 24.7c per wash

          • @cam83: Coles cheaper,if they got promotion. standard $10, biozet advanced model $11. for 2L, I believe this is tide standard model.

            • @sszjy: yeah it was some kind of advanced version I just clicked on the first one google came up with

The new reviews (since July 2019) seem pretty bad with people saying it's fake, not the same quality as the ones in the store and that the new smell makes them sick.

    • The reviews made me not purchase this deal

    • The new reviews (since July 2019) seem pretty bad with people saying it's fake, not the same quality as the ones in the store and that the new smell makes them sick.

Amazon lumps together reviews from both Amazon and third-party sellers, so it's possible that the bad reviews were from people who bought theirs from a third-party seller with dodgy stock.

  • Thanks OP, bought some.

  • Cold Power vs Tide?

  • +1

The golden Aldi liquid does the job well for us.

I actually don't understand why most people buy liquid, I used to always use powder until I bought a washing machine that doses automatically, but that function only works with liquid.

Powder is much more economical though and you're not paying for water.

    • +2

It probably is my washing machine but if I use powder, I much likely get residual powder stuck on my clothes even if I don’t overload the machine.

      • Never happened to me but just mix it with water before adding to wash.

  • Decent reviews:

    https://www.cnet.com/news/the-best-laundry-detergent-2019-re…

    "The best detergent for everything
Hands down, Tide HE Turbo Clean liquid is the best detergent. Across the board, Tide got our test loads cleaner, and with the least stains remaining, regardless of the substance. It really shone when it came to stains for wine and cocoa. Only an average of 36.6% of wine stains remained after washing. That number might sound high, but overall it's actually pretty good, especially compared with the other detergents."

  • Does it also double as a delicious snack?

  • This? or Omo ultimate

  • I think this is already expired. I'm not sure how to get to this deal.

    • +1

Not expired. Add 3 of them to your basket and the discount will be deducted at final checkout.

      • not expired, but price increase to $23 per bottle or $53 if buying 3.

        • Amazon update international stock prices multiple times each day for currency fluctuations. It was not expired and $47 when I posted.

  • so mine left the warehouse 2 days ago. Now says delivered and a note returning to sender.
Currently sitting in Package arrived at a carrier facility Lexington, KY US

    • One of mine was delivered. Other 2 were refunded. Tracking said damaged in transit. Fastway probably nicked it. I complained on chat and they price matched but I had to reorder from USA. They gave only $10 voucher to make up for multibuy offer. Not too fussed about the 66¢

  • A month after a single bottle of Tide was delivered, Amazon have now issued a refund for the other two after they were supposedly lost in transit by Fastway.

Given my order was inextricably split into three separate shipments from the US, it is hard to believe that the local carrier is at fault, rather than Amazon just reneging on the Tide promo.

With over 900 click-thru's has anyone received all three bottles as advertised?
