[BUG?] Most deals do not appear in category listing

Hi

Most posts are showing up in new deals ( http://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals ) but not anywhere else.

For example, if I click "new deals" right now, the first listing is "Save up tp 10 -50% on select Handbags, Wallets, Crossbody bags,More +Free shipping new" http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/54972

If I open up the apparel page http://www.ozbargain.com.au/cat/apparel then the first listing is "Coopers Brewery Merchandise Clearance Sale new" http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/54783

Both of the above posts have the tag "apparel" set in them. So they should both appear on http://www.ozbargain.com.au/cat/apparel

It's like this site-wide. There's a bazillion posts being hidden from the ozbargain.com.au/cat/xyz pages.

Those category listings are the way I find what I want. Now, they are entirely broken.

What gives? Am I going crazy? This seems to have conincided with a shuffling of categories recently (for example, there used to be toys-games as a category, now they are separated). I can imagine why old posts are broken if the categories were shuffled, but this seems to be affecting most new posts.

    It is because when you select a 'category' it only shows the ones with 15 + net votes

    What you are looking for is the NEW deals being posted LINK HERE

    The tabs to select the NEW deals being posted are just above the 1st image of the 1st deal posted

    Yes there have been some changes to the "Category" pages. OzBargain releases changes in bite sizes so you'll probably only notice the differences over time :)

    However, the ultimate goal is to use categories to properly segment the deals posted on OzBargain so people with diverse interests can go there. So

    • Each category are also separated into front-page deals (with 15+ votes) and new deals.
    • On each of deal, "New Deals" block on the sidebar is now showing new deals for that specific category. "Top Deals" block should also show deals most voted deals for that category over a longer period of time (coming soon).
    • More info on the category pages. For example links to useful info, relevant tags ("notebook", "desktop", "external hard drive" on the Computing category, for example, as those deals are often posted). Again this is "coming soon"

    Basically there are changes planned to make OzBargain more useful for bargain hunters of all sorts, and again "coming soon" is subjected to how busy the developers are (me & @moocher at the moment). Hopefully in the next month or two.
