Virtual Credit Card questions and Suggestions

I am thinking to use a virtual credit card for signing up to these first month discount offers.

Is it a good idea?

What is a good bank to try? I have an account with NAB and a credit card with Citibank.

Thanks!

You can use Coles Mastercard Gift Card or Vanilla Visa Gift Card selling @ Coles for the purpose of signing up to those first month discount offers. I used one for Netflix subscription.

What offers? What's wrong with using a normal credit card?

Sometimes you forget to cancel after first month and then get stuck with large charges in your CC. With one time cards or virtual cards, you won't be charged till they come after you through debt collectors

Well that's on "you" then, it's not the merchant's fault.

Unless they're one of those dodgy subscription merchants, in which case it's also on "you" for joining I. The first place haha

      • Can non Australian merchants come to you via debt collectors?

I'm assuming OP wants to sign up for first month offers multiple times. You'll only be able to use a particular card once.

You can create virtually unlimited credit cards.

        • You can create virtually unlimited credit cards.

          Best get started then..

        • You mean so you can attempt to steal indefinitely?

  • Essentially there's only two consumer based products in Australia currently that offer this as an option. I track virtual cards here in that spreadsheet and some of the business products/offerings here

    Velocity Global Wallet
They give you access to one disposable card at a time you can manually expire and reissue yourself one at will.

    Revolut
This product is currently on hold in the Australian market and they're currently not on boarding new customers you would need to have been an existing customer sometime late last year to have access hopefully re-starting soon.

Everything else is targeted at businesses and most of them are paid.
