What Monitor to Get for The Xbox Series X?

I'm currently using a 24" FHD monitor (Asus VS248) with no FreeSync for gaming on Xbox One X.

I'm intending to get a Xbox Series X so I'm assuming I should be saving for a 1440p or 4K monitor with FreeSync. Any suggestions?

I suggest you wait until it is released and then assess the option available

  • OP - where are you? I'm after a second VS248

    thanks

  • Odyssey G9

  • Are there any monitors out with HDMI 2.1 support? Most i see only have HDMI 2.0. That may be enough for 1440p 120hz, but if XBOX series x were to support ultra widescreen monitors then monitors like the Odyssey G9 would likely require HDMI 2.1.

Another option would be a HDMI 2.1 to Displayport adapter which supports 4k 120 but i have not seen any as of yet.

  • Since the specs are fully released now, anyone have any idea as to what monitor to get for the Xbox Series X or Series S?

  • Hi, I was lucky enough to preorder an Xbox Series X and am also looking for a monitor for it. I play a variety of games but would like high refresh rate for competitive shooters like COD.

I reckon I'll get the AOC 24G2. It has:

    • IPS Panel
      -144hz Refresh Rate
    • Full HD
    • Freesync

Any reason not to get this for the Series X. It should be compatible with the Series X.

    • You should get a 4k display

      • Well the thing is. The Xbox won't be powerful enough to do 4k 120fps. So I think I'll get:

        1080p/120hz monitor for competitive gaming

        And later

        A 4k 60fps TV for adventure games
