This one has decent reviews on Amazon AU and US websites. At the current price, it's one of the lowest priced cordless screwdrivers on Amazon AU though Amazon US has many more options. The lowest price has been around $25 though (Lightning deals, etc).

The set includes: A soft carrying bag with separate space for all 24 pieces of 25mm bits, 1 magnetic bit holder, 1 flexible hex Shaft Screwdriver bit Extension with magnetic quick change connect hex drive tip, 1 micro USB charge cable and a electric screwdriver itself

Why do people need this when you can use your power drill?

    • This is lighter although less powerful from your power drill 😁

      • Depends how hard you press the trigger. ;)

    • +3

People buy this when they don't have a power drill. For most people live in an apartment, they don't need to spend $100 for a power drill, as they just need to assemble the IKEA furniture.

For re/disassembly these are perfect. Drill is too big and heavy. Got a decent ryobi one before they changed their design.

    • +2

It's lighter than a power drill so easier to carry and less tiring if you have to screw/unscrew many screws.

It's more compact so it can get into tighter spaces than a power drill.

For me personally, this is a silly middle ground that I don't need.
Either I'll get a manual screw driver or an impact driver (not drill driver as suggested by others) for any job.
Others might like using these and if it works for them, all good, but for me it's just as pointless as a tablet computer.

My guess - you live in a house and your use isn't just limited to assembling light-wight furniture.

  • tempted… 5n torques is 0.5 more than the famous Bosch Cordless Screwdriver IXO VI $58 last week

  • I'd like a smaller unit, designed for using smaller hexbits. I recall seeing one on Amazon once, but the reviews were average and was $ 70?

      • Not the one. I found this one. I try to avoid Bosch. I had a REALLY BAD experience with the service on a dishwasher.
There's another unit with a better battery. 1500mah. Both are Micro-USB. I'm trying to avoid Micro-USB/Lightning, from now on.

        • yours is small and much less power compare with the on the main thread

          • @CyberMurning: I'm after something light-weight using smaller jewellery style sizes, to work on PC's/Macbooks etc. I have 2 hammer drills, a cordless drill, and Impact driver which can be used in place of the above, for general use. You just have to use GENTLY. I built desks/office furniture for a major retailer for 13 1/2 years, so I know how gentle you need to be, low torque etc.
I found one that uses AAA batteries . I'll just use the AAA rechargeable batteries, but will look up the reviews first.
Thank you for the suggestion. :)

        • That is good for electronics repair like mobile phone and the like

Sorry to side track.what was the issue with Bosch service?

    Which 1 is good:

Bosch Cordless Screwdriver vs CACOOP Electric Cordless Screwdriver in terms of quality and last?

And add IKEA FIXA to the mix too.

      https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/fixa-screwdriver-li-ion-7020325…

I'm curious to know how come IKEA's $20 screwdriver don't get enough mention, and how it compares to big name ones like Bosch?

      • I ordered CACOOP as it's only $11 (delivered) more than Ikea but has more bits. I haven't used it yet though. Also, going to Ikea just to buy a $20 item is pain when you have free delivery with Prime.
