Some great deals here - Inside and Limbo pack for $5 is a bargain!
I just wish i didnt HATE putting discs in now - if only you could buy the disc, then play digitally…

    • +5

This is what XB1 originally had planned at the 2013 announcement and then backpedal hard when everyone went apeshit.

      • -1

        yeah, i know. so disappointing….

      • +12

Also meant no preowned game market. That's where I get most of my games for cheap.

        • PC has been like this for nearly 15 years and the console market has tipped towards digital sales for years. MS were ahead of the times

EDIT: BTW, I have over 2000 physical titles across all platforms, while digital is convenient, it sucks for collectors. But that's just the current reality

          • +5

@ozb88: The difference is that on PC you have options to buy from different places at different prices. On console you're hard locked to the proprietary storefronts

            • @Faro: Yeah, I buy many games with DRM-FREE on PC…. Not really a n option for that on consoles…

            • @Faro: You're right, however there's ways that console digital stores can open up so you can purchase codes from retail/websites and they can run their own promotions/sales on the codes. Steam/Origin has been doing this for years

              • @ozb88: I feel like that would have to happen before an all-digital future becomes viable on console

                • +1

                  @Faro: Chicken/Egg situation

              • +1

@ozb88: While it's true that it's possible for them to sell codes for digital downloads through physical retail, it's worth noting that Nintendo in Europe have actually just put a stop to this practice (for their first party titles, at least).

                https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-06-30-nintendo-halts…

There's nothing to stop other publishers / platform holders potentially doing the same thing.

                • @AngusD: Terrible practice, monopolising the market.

            • +1

@Faro: Also on PC I can keep playing it when I buy a new computer. Games I buy on Wii shop aren't playable on WiiU or Switch.

    • -1

MS should offer a physical to digital conversion for a good price…

  • +2

    Sparklite any good?

    • Seems good for just $5!

      • +1

        Yer

        I picked up

        Shenmue 1&2 for XBOX
        Sparklite PS4
        Crackdown 3 XBOX

  • -2

PS4 games are never this cheap :'(

    • +1

Most of these games appear to be available for PS4…

      • I know just really poor :'(

    • Most of them are available for PS4….

  • So who has played these games and what are the ones worth getting?

    • +2

Sparklite, Shenmue, Evil Within and Slay the Spire

      • +2

I think crackdown for $5 is great too.

        • +2

Yeah hard to beat that price. Its ten bucks at Amazon atm, but its free on Game pass (and likely will be foreever).

    • +1

Children of Morta is a fun co op dungeon crawler

  • +4

Picked up Shenmue I & II for Xbox, thank you!

  • -2

Amazon has matched the price on some of these.

    • Not true. Currently, the only one they have priced matched is The Evil within 2.
Please share links so we can get free delivery.

  • +1

Escapists 1 + 2, The Evil Within 2 & Anthem available on their eBay store if you prefer.

Unfortunately only items that are $15 or more have free eBay plus shipping.

PS4 Shenmue III Day One Edition is also still $15 from EB Games & Amazon.

    • -1

Shenmue III is a great pickup if you're a big Shenmue fan or you hate yourself and want to suffer

  • +4

Play Inside on the biggest screen you can, in the dark, with headphones on loud. It's a work of art.

    • +1

      Agreed! Limbo is also great!

    • +3

Great game… the last 20 minutes or so is still possibly the most "WTF was that?" moment of my gaming life.

      • +1

Inside is similar in that regards.

        • Yeah, sorry - Inside was the one I was referring to. I enjoyed Limbo, too, for what it's worth. But Inside… geez.

  • +1

Better yet, Shenmue III PS4 is 15 dollars, just bought one. Thank you

  • +2

Damn… been waiting for ages for a decent sale on Slay the Spire on PSN.

$10… geez… might have to go with a physical copy for that price, though. Hard to say no.

  • +1

Just picked up Shenmue 3 preowned for $10 on PS4 thanks guy!

  • +1

Sweet, $10 for both Big Bash Boom and The Evil Within 2.

Pickup at second local store when I can be bothered.

  • +1

    Legend!

  • +1

Thanks OP. I finally have a legit copy of Shenmue 1 and 2… it's only taken about 20 years! 😁

  • Both escapists for $10 is a good deal but unfortunately no home delivery and unavailable near me.

  • +1

Children of Morta is an excellent game - played it on Switch and enjoyed every second of it.

  • Got the Shenmue 1&2 for XBOX, receipt says new but the game totally is preowned, anyone else got the same?

    • How can you tell? Is it in poor condition? I'd take it back and demand a new one or refund if it was sold to you as being a new one and is clearly not. At least if it bothers you, although if it's in OK nick and works alright then might not be worth the hassle for the sake of $10.

      • It isn't that bad, but in the case I can see some marks and also the game include a poster inside that is been clearly used. As you said for $10 not sure if I will bother to go to the shop, but If I get confirmed that this is a common practice in this shop probably next time I will check other places to buy.

        • It's common as you can return games after 7 days here and they can still class them as new

          • @J6: Ok I got the point, but this game must been purchased and returned several times to look like this haha I think it is even difficult to get this worn out in 7 days

            • +1

@Kitoss7: It's quite possible. You can return it within 7 days and swap it for another or have it refunded.

        • It's common practice for EB games to sell new games already opened or possibly used. Unless it's a newish game or they happen to have extra copies at the back, then you'll likely get stuck with one of the few they had where the cover has been out on display - so they say.

I recently purchased a new copy of Shadow Of Mordor and got stuck with a case that seemed to have bitten on the spine by a toddler! To be fair, the game was $5 and has been out for a while but they looked at me like an idiot when I asked for a new case.

          • +1

@cheepo: Yeah you buy something with a “new” sticker on it and ask for a brand new looking item and you are the weirdo haha they should review their policy

            • +1

@Kitoss7: My favourite is when they don't have new copy of the game that's on sale in-stock and only have a pre-owned version….which can sometimes be more expensive! Yet, they'll refuse to sell you the pre-owned version at the discounted price of the new! 😆

              • +1

@cheepo: Haha that’s a good one. Man It’s funny but seriously their system is totally broken 🤦‍♂️

  • Children of Morta is a bargain for $5.

  • I bought The Escapists for $10 and sold it to CEX for $24 store credit.
In the end, cost me $16 for a $30 game

  • I was browsing 'Press Start' a few minutes ago and noticed that this deal is also featured there
