I had to create a new amazon.com account for this with a US address, but paid for it with my Aussie CC. As long as the address is US the order will go through, no checks on the Aussie CC.

firstly, the address must be a US address. this is australia.
and secondly, the price isnt even that good for a digital copy. there are many places selling the standard and limited editions for cheaper. http://www.cdkeyprices.com/search.php?q=battlefield+3
the lowest for the limited edition seems to be around $34
From CD key sites they are lower yes. This is Amazon, a reputable dealer.
You should not compare cd-key websites to authorised digital sellers.
finding a cd key seller that hasnt ripped off hundreds of people is hard. $41 for an authorised reseller is a great deal.
