Part of amazon lighting deal. Currently 60% claimed.

FYI, if burglars turn off your power then it doesn’t work. You will need to lock your meter box.

    Also:

NOTICE: There're 2 appearances of this system in-stock: RLK8-420D4-5MP and RLK8-520D4-5MP. They are the same inside and will performance as the same. You may receive either of them these days.

    • That's true for eveything connected in a home. It's why UPS is a thing

  • viewing angle is really crap on these, only 80°

do reolink have any good cameras with a wider field of view?

  • 100% claimed

  • Was able to order, came out to 390 delivered.

    • How ?

      • Not sure, was showing 20% off at 480. Then there's a click here for 15% off coupon. Math didn't seem right, but I just quickly ordered it. I'm using mobile app.

        • I just did it super quickly while walking the dog. Ended up stepping in another dogs poop, guess that's the price I paid…

            @dcuksuop: Found out
Further 15% was on original 599 price :)
            Win win

    • Mind PM me your invoice/receipt? Thats a great deal there

  • 100% claimed

  • Doh missed it :(

  • Seems like a decent price if you need the NVR, but be aware that you can pick up the cameras for AUD$65-70. The $420 price was pretty good for the full system given it came with a 2TB NVR.

    • But is 5MP good enough to recognise faces 5m away in the dark?

Back in stock at original price with 15% discount off.

      • Higher megapixels is actually supposed to be worse for low light image quality. People rave about the Dahua 2MP camera for low light image quality.

    • where do you get the cameras for 65? Ebay?

  • damn missed it too

  • edit: for @t3chshopper 2 posts above

Big factor is sensor size. Larger the sensor the more the camera is able to capture at night. The higher megapixel cams that perform crap at night have smaller sensors. I have 8MP 4k hikvision/dahuas that have large sensors and details at night are great.

The dahua 2MP have starlight (darkfighter in hikvision) sensors that give good low light performance (little ghost effects, brighter light) but still worse on detail that higher megapixels offer. During daytime lower res quality shows its weakness.

Now those are for commercial cams. With these consumer focused reolinks you will get cheaper smaller sensors, low strength night vision and bad night quality all around.
Daytime performance looks to be decent on the reolink 4k's.

  • Is this the best price so far, cant recall seeing any lower than $400

  • owwh I keep missing out on these deals! haha

  • I have this kit and found 1 weird thing - you can only manage cameras via the NVR box itself (via HDMI and USB mouse).

Unless Im blind… you cannot add or manage cameras from the web GUI. But seem to be able to do everything else.
Very annoying, as my NVR is hidden away so not easy to attach a screen/keyboard to.

Can do it through there PC/Mac software or through the android/iOS apps

      • Thanks, I did not realise they had an app for PC since you can do live view/playback via the web browser.

Just makes it a lot easier to copy/paste strong passwords on the computer, than via the USB mouse connected to the NVR.

        • I just did the whole set up through the app. Very easy and I think one of the best apps from a manufacturer too
