It is also far more expensive.
Is it also more reliable?
Backed by a 5 year limited warranty for 350TBW. 970 Evo is 300TBW and 5 years limited warranty so I'd at least rate the endurance as on par with each other. Of course the 970 has faster read/writes but up to your use case to decide if it's worth the $70 premium.
Yes… Samsung 970 is better if you can get the same size for the same price.
Contemplating on getting this one or the Samsung Evo 860 500gb ssd (currently also $97) to swap out the m2. 128gb drive from my Dell 5675. Has anyone done a swap like this before on the Dell 5675?
According to https://www.dell.com/community/Inspiron-Desktops/Inspiron-56… there are 2 m2 slots one supporting sata and one nvme - this is nvme. Upgrading your nvme to a other nvme if you want to keep the drive contents will require an enclosure. If the 128gb is on the sata port, you can clone using something like Macrium Reflect.
Just check supported sizes for Dell's for Sata and nvme drives - I did one for a mate and it did have issues with the machine recognising size of sata m2 drive
Thanks CachePC.
